I have some expensive acrylic models I want to repaint. Learned something as I pursue this hobby. Is there a safe way to remove acrylic paint from resin? I have had some luck with simple green on metal.

Simple Green and a soft toothbrush. Just watch your soak times.

What is a recommended soak time, Sweetie?

I have never had issues with soak times using Simple Green.

I guess it may depend on the type of resin.
I have had no problems on the tan resins. Never tried it on gray resins.

I had an Armorcast Madcat in Simple Green for more than three weeks without any issues with the resin. Dito on the soft brush.

I've heard a simple swipe with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol, but I've never tried it.

Some resins are softer than others. I generally soak over night. However, I did forget one batch and let it sit 2 weeks (I went on a dive trip). When I got back some of the figures were a gooey mess. Didn't hurt the metals at all and some of the other resins were just fine.

I soaked my Battlefront KV-1 tanks for 5 days the resin became more brittle after that.

I had some 1:2400 resin ships that I dropping in simple green and forgot about them for several months. Other than the paint was turned to goo and washed off REALLY easy there were no issues.
