Hi! Nearly 16 years ago a long journey began that culminated today. The net EPIC Gold books are finally done and uploaded to the EPICentre here: netepic.org/netepic.html netEPIC Gold and its books sprung from the epic community and henceforth will remain for the community to enjoy for free, for as long as there are enthusiasts whom care to download it. I remember once saying long ago that if the rules were downloaded once and played it was payment enough for all the hard work. I'm sure there will be many more to download these great tomes and enjoy the game. My deepest appreciation and thanks to the many whom have helped make these books possible. They are the "net" in net EPIC. Without them nothing throughout those nearly 16 years would have been achievable. I salute you!! While the great work of the net EPIC Gold books has been done, in the following weeks the files for net EPIC Gold army cards and an optional book with additional material will be added to the net EPIC library. To all fans of epic, fans CAN matter. All it takes are people to invest to guide their own hobby. As long as this is true, the game of "epic" can be enjoyed in ALL it's incarnations! Enjoy the books and Happy Epic Gaming! Peter Ramos (a.k.a primarch, net epic coordinator). |

I'm long since a lapsed player, but it is nice to see the fan base is still so strong after all these years. |

Haven't touched Epic in quite a while, but still have 4 armies with me. I just took a quick look of the core rulebook and the production value is very high. Love the artwork! |

Hi! No worries K Travlos. The net epic project was been reviewed by GW MANY times in the last 16 years. This is why all art, photography and CGI in the Gold books are originally made. The text is so extensively re-written that there is virtually no semblance to it and mechanics per se are not copyrightable. We even include the standard legal disclaimer GW likes in each book. Heck for a time we even had Jervis Johnson on the netepic mailing list as a lurker and he even posted once! I'm glad the feedback so far has been very favorable and people appreciate the effort that went into making them. It is for the epic enthusiast that it was made. Enjoy! Primarch |

Well done guys, good to see the EPIC flame is alive. It was a great game. At work and can't take a look, but have you included a points builder for folks to create their own units? I ask as my gaming group is looking at using the core Epic rules and mechanics for 15mm sci fi gaming. |

Well done, great little rules system, strengths in each of the revisions. |

I for one would like to know why a Eldar Farseer or Warlock costs more than a Space Marine Librarian. Plus why do they cost the same even when you put them onto a Jetbike. |

Hi Primarch! That is great news! With Respect KTravlos |

Good job! Although I haven't played 'Epic' in over 20 years (I once bought the original Space Marine and Adeptus Titanicus), I'm glad to see the community surrounding it is still vibrant. |

To those of you worrying about the entire NetEpic project getting sued (or at very least getting a C&D): Copyright laws have pretty much established that game MECHANICS are not copyrightable. In MONOPOLY for example, you can make the game's logo a trademark, You can copyright the cards, board, little houses, even the design of the rules booklet, but you can't copyright the rule that lets you roll again if you get doubles. If you to copy the rule word-for-word in the rules for your own game, you could get smacked with a copyright infringement because that could be seen as an infringement from the copyrighted rules booklet, but if you were to reword the phrasing so it essentially said the same thing, then you'd be safe. |

This is pretty amazing. Are there plans later to make the other army books also available in this format? I might see if I can get some of my friends to cough up some change so we can splurge and have them nicely printed with covers and all. Might be a big chunk of the annual gaming budget, but it would be so worth it. |
