"Names...Names...my kingdom for a name! `" Topic

With work in progress of my new range of 15mm troops, I am wondering what name I should call them.

They are the British Commonwealth Inspired, however I am after catchy nick names and a Great Empire/Nation name?

So far I have (rather poor)

Or if they are just British then stick with the tried and true: The United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, or the UK for short!

It's worked pretty well for them over the last few centuries, so why not let it stick around for a few more?

How about one of these: Britanic Empire, Albion Commonwealth, Anglian Alliance, United Commonwealth.

You know, UK can still work in the future. Just have it mean United Kingdoms (plural) or Universal Kingdom. Means you can still use existing decals!

But technically daibaka the UK is a group of (plural) kingdoms united, which includes Scotland, Britain, Wales and even Northern Ireland. All united as one Kingdom hence the singular title.

Could always try
Neo-Britain which is just another way to say New Britain.

@Sargonarhes – That is true, but we're talking about an imaginary space faring political entity that doesn't (currently) exist. Besides the way things are going at the moment, we might be looking at a national rebranding exercise come 2014 anyhow!

As far as the United Kingdoms go, you could come up with any number of different explanations for the name. We could always just refer to it as "the Empire"! It worked for the Victorians…

You're talking about the rumors that Scotland wants to leave the UK and return to it's independent state. And Lucas can't sue over the term "Empire" or even "Galactic Empire" as it's the 'Galactic Empire' in Legend of Galactic Heroes as well. A little late to sue over it at this point.

Empire is just too broad of a term, sure it could be the British Empire or a reference to the old Roman Empire or Holy Roman Empire.

Now releasing knock-off bases for use with a brand new super hot game. This of course allowing people to play with the pile of miniatures they already own from a previous game. Combined with foolishly showing their miniatures with your flight stands on your company website… Well that will earn you a nice shiny C&D letter from Lucas Films LTD.
