thanks Armand for sharing ………this represents

the commencement of my new Alamo Range in 40mm and

the Building of the Alamo and hopefully a recreation of

a large chunk of the assault ……..with possibly about

900 figures or more. this is for Salute 2013 and will be

on display as a game.

I too think it's lovely work, but the face of the mission is wrong. What is shown above is based on sketches which included additions made by the US Army at least a decade after the battle.

The second story windows to the far left and right did not exist in 1836. And the curving center piece along the top wasn't there.

That said, this is far closer than the usual models I've seen, where they render the Alamo as it is today. And, invoking "The Duke can do no wrong" rule, it captures the photos I've seen of the John Wayne movie set for his movie of this famous battle.

So good job!

Oh, for those who want to know what it really looked like, take a look at this PDF. It is provided by the official Alamo site (it's packaged as a lesson plan for school projects, and part of the plan is building a scale model of the entire compound including the mission). On page 10 you will find a detailed sketch with dimension of mission front.
