I've written up a bit of a review of the 4Ground "terrace" buildings that are great for WW2 gaming. I also include some assembly "caveats" that I figured out during my own experience putting them together.

Check it out here: link

Overall, if you haven't seen these are or on the fence about getting them --- get them now --- they are awesome!

The little 'sliver' on all sprues is apparently used to help poke out the slots/unnecessary bits off the sprue

Thanks for that. I looked at them at Colours, but had already bought a big pile of MDF buildings that day. I'm still tempted to add their terraced houses (when I can afford another "splurge") and you article convinces me they're really good.

Count me in when they make 1/72 or 20mm sizes. Very nice from what I saw at SELWG

Thanks … That solves that question.

I'm really happy with them. I hope they expand the 28mm range … They have some really nice 15mm sets that I would love to have in the larger scale.

I bought their Dark Ages buildings with thatched rules, awesome for the price.

Agree : expand 28mm as a suggestion a big French Chateau/mansion would be fun perhaps!

Definately … I've been mulling over how "kit bashable" the current buildings are …

Phil Gray21 Oct 2012 11:06 a.m. PST

very nice

BTW, that sliver on each sprue is a tool they include with all the kits I've seen – when I built my wagons I used it to help remove some of the more delicate pieces off of the sprue and then also to nudge one or two pieces into place as I built the model itself…

Indeed --- the official word is it is for poking out the rubble parts of the building and sprues. Still at a loss with the extra assembled part from the ruined house.

I've just tried my first 4Ground terrain this weekend. I am very impressed.

I saw them in use at Warfare last weekend and immediately spent £66.00 GBP on some. More will follow.

I too picked up a load at Warfare. They are going to be added to my winter table so I can hide the joins on the roofs with snow :)

Thanks for the review, I've got a few that I haven't got round to building so I'll refer to your post when I do.

Just seen your Fort William Henry model, you've done an excellent job on that. I'll have to consult your blog for some modeling tips and inspiration.
