Well, I've been working on my homebrew fantasy rules of late and especially the world map. I've been having a helluva time trying to find free map fonts that I can use to indicate various features like mountains, water, swamp, and the like. My Google-fu is weak and I'm not finding anything on my searches. The reason I'm looking for a font type is that it's cut-n-paste and I can easily just populate the map without taking a ton of time hand-drawing features. I guess some kind of dingbat/webding font is what I'm looking for, right? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have to play solo, so the map is just for my private use. I really can't see investing in software like Campaign Cartographer, etc. just for a one-off map for my own use. As always, thanks in advance!

"Da Font" is the best place to go for free fonts. The selection is enormous and they are all free to download.

If you need a map maker, try these:
hexographer.com
Click on the Free link for an online version (no download / install needed).

autorealm.sourceforge.net
GNU free

If you just need fonts to put on a map, google these:
"free fonts old map"
"free fonts fantasy map"
