Nice! So you did a custom job on the Millenium Falcon? |
Only Warlock | 16 Oct 2012 8:41 p.m. PST |
Yup! It's an adaptation of the Revell Pre-painted Snap-Tite kit that's out now. I just added an Ink Wash after assembly and a bit of cleanup work. |

Nice job on that frigate. Do you have a blueprint you'd be willing to share? |

I just sketched out the planform for the main hull on a piece of Styrene and cut with an exacto. Once I had that, I laid in a skeleton within the hull to give some depth and then built it up section by section by "feel". It should be easy to replicate with Plasticard OR with Foamcore and Stiff Card. |

OK – dumb question from somebody who has only glanced through the X-Wing rules so far. How do the rules handle ships like this with multiple batteries firing into different arcs? Doug |
Only Warlock | 17 Oct 2012 10:06 a.m. PST |
There are two "Classes" of weapons, one handles blasters, which just an aggregate number and Missiles/Torpedoes, which are usually equipment upgrades. Arcs are usually reflected on the card that fits on the base, but not divided up. For example in this case the Frigate has a firepower rating in a 360 arc that represents the firepower of both turrets. However, if I took the Cluster Missile Upgrade it fires to the forward arc marked on the base, |

Nice work, I have been following your progress. Not to be picky but it would seem that you should have more firepower in a fore/aft arc rather than port/starboard. With the Falcon, both turrets have a 360 arc (the game is only 2D) so you get full firepower at any point. |

I decided to be vanilla about it until X wing addresses different Firepower in different Arcs. Simple enough to adjust. |

That ship is too cool! But it seems a little small next to the T.I.E fighters and other ships. |

TIE Fighters have really enormous Cockpits for scale, it's actually bigger than the Falcon and the bridge is as thick as the middle of the Falcon's main hull. |

This thing probably has a crew of 8 people or so. Maybe 4 on the bridge 1 or 2 per laser turret, 2-3 Engineers and that's about it! I liken it to a PT boat or something. |

Exactly my thoughts, Indie (although i was thinking a couple Stormtroopers to board errant freighters with the turrets controlled from a gunnery station on the bridge) |

Even better! I love it. Let me know when you're ready to commission the Sister Ship :) |
