So I was scoping around on eBay for some 1/48 tanks for Bolt Action, and came upon some plastic tanks produced by plastic toy soldiers (not PSC). They are listed at 1/32 scale, but the company admits they are closer to 1/39. The measurements are 6 inches long by 3 wide, which is about what my tamiya/corgi 1/48 1/50 models measure. The models are only $12 USD-15, and they offer a stug, a m3 halftrack and some others. Does anyone have any of these? With a nice paint job, I could see them as a cheap alternative, as long as they are close to scale. |

Do you mean made by Classic Toy Soldiers (CTS)? |

They are listed at 1/32 scale, but the company admits they are closer to 1/39. Not anywhere close. 1/32 is equivalent to a figure size of 50mm while 1/39 is roughly equivalent to 40mm. No where near 28mm!! |

I'd suggest the best vehicle models for 28mm WW2 would be these: link At least you don't need many of them

Yup, CTS. The models are one inch longer than my Corgis, but width and height wise are the same. |

Interesting find, they look to big though (IMHO) there is a company that makes 1:48/1:50th scale vehicles. link I use the 1:48th scale models, painting up a Sherman platoon right now :) If you get some of those, once you paint them post them so we can have a look. Warlord |

Off the top of my head, I believe they are what one would consider "40mm size." They are smaller than 1/32, and they are larger than most people would use with 28s. |

I have a number of their German and Soviet tanks for my 54mm project. I like them because the are undersized so they save a little bit of space and mostly fit into my game table grid. There are a number of paper models out there that can be scaled to whatever needs. I needed a lot of armor quickly for a Memoir 44 Overlord scenario I was running
I bought the more simple models and scaled them to match my CTS tanks
A lot of cutting and glue work but it saved me a lot of expense. |
