Napoleon would still complain that he needed more men….

Is your name Laser60 because thats how many times you needed eye surgery to finish painting that lot?

Magnifico! Bravo Mon Ami!

What rules are these based for?

Maxshadow14 Oct 2012 9:16 a.m. PST

Impressive sight mate!

laser6014 Oct 2012 9:29 a.m. PST

Thank you guys!
jeffreyW3: the back seat of 3 station wagons was full…
TelesticWarrior: I painted just about 70% of them :-)
ancientsgamer: they are based for my rules "Drums and Shakos Large Battles", but this basing works also for "Shako", "Lasalle" and several other.

You know you have an awesome collection when it takes the span of 3 march tunes to show it all. Just when I thought you have everything but the Turks, you have the Turks lol.
Congrats on completing so many miniatures.

A nice start, if a bit modest. Is it for a skirmish?

When do you think you'll really get going on this?

dglennjr14 Oct 2012 2:32 p.m. PST

Impressive, most impressive. I only have about 3000, 15mm Napoleonic figures. (British, French, and Prussian.) I can't imagine the strength to make it to 11,000, even if I added the Austrian and Russians that I'd like to do.

Go big or go home. I like huge collections no matter what the size (15mm, 28mm etc).

What I regret is to have sold my 2500 ACW minis about 10 years ago, but I'm (slowly) rebuilding my 2 armies. Unfortunately, I rarely paint 15mm miniatures now, as my eyes are getting weak. I buy them painted and if I'm not 100% satisfied with them I add some detail or re-paint some parts…

trailape15 Oct 2012 4:14 a.m. PST

Nice collection!

reggie8815 Oct 2012 9:51 a.m. PST

Wow, I have about 8000 15mm Napoleonic figures, in my collection.

That is one of the biggest 15mm collections I have ever seen.

Great job.

truly – impressive. do you have them insured? if not, you need to do that right about NOW!

Barenakedleadies16 Oct 2012 10:24 p.m. PST

Simply stunning. My mind is just blown seeing that many figures set out on display together at one time like that. The dedication it took to collect and paint, not too mention simply set up that display is impressive.

Really inspiring to see such a magnificent collection.

reggie88, Clays Russians, Barenakedleadies,

thank you so much for your kind words. It was the first time that I saw them all together in a single place and I was impressed myself :) Not sure if I want to repeat the experience again but your comments help a lot.
Cheers
Sergio

Wowza…

I am typing with my mouth agape and bottom jaw resting on the keyboard.

Did Sergio paint these on a 1:1 scale? He must keep these stored in a semi-trailer truck in the backyard.

I didn't know that there were that many countries in Europe at the time.

I don't know about the rest of you fellas, but if I suddenly amassed a collection of that size, I too would be living in an unfurnished basement somewhere in Italy trying to hide from an enraged suddenly-psychotic wife.

I thought I was to pick one country and keep it small.

Nice!

14Bore17 Oct 2012 3:52 p.m. PST

I'm not quite half way there, guess I need to get more figures. And thats what I mean when I wrote on another post of not finding the end of the madness. And it looks like to me a 60-1 ratio.

laser6018 Oct 2012 1:25 a.m. PST

Nasty Canasta, 14Bore,

4 infantry bases represent a Battalion, so the proportion is about 60:1 as 14Bore wrote.

As a side note, it took almost 5 hours to put them on display and Sergio's back was (unsurprisingly) hurting at the end!
