Apologies if this has been posted before, but just in case it hasn't:

Very good, interesting twist in the tail

Did either fighter have that sort of range to get that far?

Nice!

Dunno about 109's which IIRC only had fuel for about 20 mins messing about over Britain before skedaddling but Ireland's only a short hop away by Spitfire. I'd be sruprised though if anyone ended up there without noticing like the guys in the video!

Have seen it before, but still a great video

One of my buddy's dads was an officer in the tiny Irish army who spent the war escorting interned aircrew around – they were mostly Allied bomber crews

As to the feasibility, I don't know that a Me-109 would have had the legs – or the need – to be near Irish airspace – but it still makes a great yarn!

Very good, I liked the dogfight scene, very well done. I think I recognise the town, but am not sure.

I've seen that before. I love it. The opening scene approaching the bomber formations and the dog fights are wonderful.

I know a Bf-109 is not going to make it to Ireland, but a good twist at the end.

cool, thanks for sharing, love the dogfight scene

Great story! Great fighter action!

If an ME109 got that far it was going to be a one way trip.

eptingmike11 Oct 2012 10:28 p.m. PST

Well, it sorta was! :)

Very good film.

This man needs to be given a bigger budget for a proper feature. He could do Paerl Harbour, as there has been no film made about that in the past 40 years (!)….

Oberst Radl12 Oct 2012 7:44 p.m. PST

Where's Pearl Harbour?

I can see giving the man more money, but he should *not* go to Hollywood. Ever.

bilsonius15 Oct 2012 9:16 p.m. PST

Apparently Allied aircrew tended to get repatriated far more easily than German, until a politician in the Irish Dail asked "I know we're neutral, but who are we neutral against?"

Oberst Radl17 Oct 2012 8:49 a.m. PST

Hah, that's funny. Didn't de Valera threaten to withdraw the 8th Army from North Africa?
