G'day all,

I've recently relocated from Sydney to Glenreagh.. about halfway between Coffs Harbour and Grafton.

Does anyone have any contacts for gaming groups in either town?

Thanks!

In July, the good lady and myself had three weeks in Evans Head, (not far from Grafton) was very pleasant. Though I couldn't help noting an almost total lack of Hobby stores in the vacinity. Grafton and Lismore were the most promising, Lismore IIRC had a gaming store of the typical LFGS seen in Aus regional centres, mix of stock and/gaming hangout for the local GW and trading card addicts. Though it was closed. There was a nice hobby store/second hand bookstore in South grafton, though he seems to specialise in cars, but could be a winner for your consumables.

I never got to casino or tweed head. Lovely part of the world, though poor old Ballina was a bit sad, the maritime Museum was pretty cool.

Didn't come acros a lot of Military museums etc. the Evans Head RSL is great for a meal. I did get the impression there were more options in coffs harbour.

Hope this is some help

Cheers

Chris

G'day all,

Thanks.. will start looking as I unpack the boxes (and boxes and boxes)…

Bluewillow – do you know what periods they are interested in? – I'd love to get in a game sometime as I like most periods and scales, though am not up with the latest products from GW….

All the best

Off topic I know but I lived in Nambucca Heads when I was a boy. Highlight would be the monthly trip to Coffs. I would make straight to its Hobby store and then stay staring through the window until it was time to go. Ah bliss.
Nice part of the world Dave. Good beaches.

Maxshadow – I know that feeling… I used to live up on Pittwater, there was a model shop at Dee Why that had everything – I'd bike or bus the 20 odd km to get my plastic fix – even if it was just to dream… Then there was Tin Soldier at Crows Nest which was even more of a challenge to get to – but as a young 'un I did that trip a few times.. yes I'm that old!

Bluewillow – great, thanks!
I've a few 100 20mm vehicles et al for WW2 (and WWI and modern) that I'd love to see on a table again.
I also have a 15mm Russian Nap army that I never got around to painting.. and…. ;-)

oh – and I have a 25m x 20m shed just waiting for a game or two…

Thanks again!

David

Hello DavidinGlenreagh CoffsGrafton

I'm sorta out that way, which 20mm rules do you use?

My main experience is with DBM and DBR also some GZG Dirtside and Red Actions RCW.

Incidentally the Curious Minds shop at the Plaza has expanded and is now stocking more plastic kits, including Zvezda 1/72 Art of War stuff.

Cheers

G'day GrumpyOldMan,

I used Command Decision Test of Battle for 20mm (20th C)

I had developed some modern variants though there are more advanced ones out there (see testofbattle.com forum threads).

I've been playing DBA and HoTT for years, as it is quicker than DBM/DBR.

Played Dirtside a few times and wouldn't mind playing again.

RCW is an area that I'm also interested in I have a 15mm Peter Pig army waiting for the paint and time.

I work in Coffs CBD so dropping down to the shop is an option thanks.

If you are interested in a game or three when and where?

ps. my email address is above

All the best

David
