I painted some Plastic Gripping Beast Vikings some time ago that ended up in the possesion of a friend of mine. Now he have asked me for some plastic Berserkers without mailshirt…

So in my search to solve the task I got my hands on some Warlord Games plastic celts… mixed them with some spareVikings parts from my bitbox…and I endend up with 4 Viking Berserkers :)

Here are a pictures of the assembled minis, you can find some more pictures at my blog.

Best regards Michael

Warlord and Wargames Factory need a sell a single sprue of their Celts/Germans separately.

Call it, the "Saga Sprue"

Guinny04 Oct 2012 4:23 a.m. PST

You mean like this?

I thought one link might be for Wargames Factory, alas.

Too bad because their Numidian single sprue is $4 USD and if the celts were similarly priced that would beat Warlord all to hell.

Glad you liked my work :)

About Warlord Games compared to Wargames Factory…Warlord Games win every day!

Mr Elmo05 Oct 2012 2:24 a.m. PST

Warlord don't make Bondi, do they?

With WF you can get a box of Bondi and one of Huscarls and have the army!

Dalauppror05 Oct 2012 10:13 a.m. PST

Warlord dosent do any Viking minis, but they sell the Gripping beast plastic hirdmen that are much better then the WF ones, unfortunally GB dosenīt don any Bondis yet…have been in the pipeline for some time with generic dark age "bondis"

I would rather save my money then spending them on WF minis.

so enough with bagging them

Dalauppror06 Oct 2012 5:40 a.m. PST

Hi Chris

Bagging them ? sorry my english arnīt that good, but I suppose this is your childish way of telling me that you donīt like my opinion of the WF Vikings and Saxons???

You done a great paint job i must admit ! but they still have the quite odd poses as several of the WF minis unfortunaly have. The warlord celts also have some odd poses but I prefer them befor the WF ones and I absolutely prefer GB Vikings/Saxons befor the WF ones…every day.

I just answered a question and expressed my opinon about some adjacent minis, if you donīt like my opinion so sorry for you, no need to overlod my painting thread with your work.

Good luck with your painting service !

Best regards Michael

childish? I was merely pointing out that the WF are very capable of filling the void..I don't actually think their poses are any more odd than the Warlord Celts. The WF Germans make excellent beserkers.
"bagging" is an Australian term for unfairly running something down which I feel you are doing.
Threads have a life of their own and I was merely providing balance to the debate..
I wasn't intentionally advertising..I now always put some recognition in all the pictures I post on line..The ease with which pictures can be copied means I am sensitive to with whom, and to where, they might end up..it is a sort of insurance against copying .I don't mind people copying but I want others to be aware that they are originaly mine..I actually suggest everybody should do something similar.
one thing I have learnt with assembling plastics is to pose them slightly side on . they look much better done that way..

I am 57 , "childish" is something way beyond my experience any more.

Dalauppror06 Oct 2012 7:39 a.m. PST

Hi Chris

Sorry to hear that you donīt consider your self childish any more, I suppose I consider my self childish, but I just 40 and still play with plastic minis and I realy hope that I will be childish enough to continue untill Iīm 57 at least:)

Thanks for your explanation about "bagging" I had to google it, but I dinīt fonund any thing usefull. Considering the explanation you gave "unfairly running something down" I must say that I feel that you in this case bagging my freedom of opinion by using such expression and by posting 7 of your own pictures to make your point, in my painting thread.

Iīm realy not interested in continue the debate about WF minis compared to other manufacturs, I donīt like them, others do, no more about that.

Keep up a good work and keep posting nice pictures of your work. You have a nice painting blog to Chris! link

Best regards Michael

a remarkably convoluted analysis of the balance of this debate.I am old enough to understand the notion of chilsish when it is used a derogatory term. You began this debate, in public here so you have to accept that if you declare in a sweeping statement
"I would rather save my money then spending them on WF minis."
that somebody,in this case me , will take you up on it. and you will be obliged to defend your position? it is how a dialogue works
thank you for your kind word about my painting
"bagging" is the rather gentle response, it is much nastier when you get into "slagging" and and finally "sledging"
