link Here is the Work in Progress forum. Mostly 40k-centric, but an excellent resource for ideas and techniques nonetheless. |

The Starship Modeler is a good place to start. starshipmodeler.com FitchenFoo. fichtenfoo.com/blog My blog has some tips as well. walledgardens15mm.blogspot.com Any modeling site probably will give a good start on where to look, as a lot of tips and trick are frequently alluded to in them in the form of links to said tip
Model Railroad sites are also a good place to start also. There are also several Armor and airplane specific sites as well. Looking through the SF3D/Ma.K sites have a fair number references as well, but be warned some of the Japanesse modelers are absolutely over the top in their technique. |

The other half of rolling your own is discovering what your style of building is, Meaning a set of techniques that work for me, might not work for you. I love laminate building with prescribed plastic card sheets as it very fast in the build up phase and allows me to match the shapes I have in my head, But it is very intolerant of revisions once the core is built up. Where as a box-frame build up lends it's self to major revisions of shape. But the biggest thing is to BUILD, often and frequently, it is the only way to build up your skills
