I have an ABUNDANCE of Deffkoptas (like, more than thirty!) They are leftovers from all the various and sundry AOBR kits I have bought second-hand or traded for to get boyz and other orky goodness off Bartetown and eBay. Thing is, I prefer Stormboyz for my FA choices & rarely field ANY of them…

With the Forgeword Chinork Warcopta out there available, I thought why not propose an all-flight force? I know Warseer and Dakka Dakka has 2-3 threads on it, but no members put anything for peer review, just a "wouldn't it be kewl…"

I'm thinking try to keep it within the current stats as much as possible, every element must incorporate some sort of flight and try not to force a flight capability on something that is illogical (even for orks) or that would make it overpowering.

HEADQUARTERS

WARBOSS
Options:
Cannot take mega-armor or warbike.
• Must take Chinork Warcopta as a Dedicated Transport.
• Must take one Nobz Mob (3-10) as Retinue
• Warboss & Retinue must start game aboard Chinork

BIG MEK
Options:
Cannot take mega-armor, shokk-attack gun, warbike or grot oilers.
• Must take DeffKopta for +30 points
• All 2-handed weapon options would be Kopta-mounted.

WEIRDBOY
• Must take Deffkopta for +30 points.

Cannot upgrade to Nob Bikers.

KOMMANDOS

____________________________________________________________

TROOPS

ORK BOYZ
Unit Composition:
10-?? Ork Boyz
Transport:
Ork Boyz must take a Chinork Warcopta as a dedicated transport.

DEFFKOPTAS
(same rules as FAST ATTACK entry)

DEDICATED TRANSPORT VEHICLE

CHINORK WARCOPTA
(stats and cost per Imperial Armor 8, not counted as HEAVY SUPPORT, but as a Dedicated Transport per FLYBOYZ LIST)
____________________________________________________________

FAST ATTACK

STORMBOYZ
(no changes)

WARBUGGIES
(must be upgraded to WARTRAKK and each take GROT BOMB LAUNCHER upgrade per rules in Imperial Armor)

DEFFKOPTAS
(no changes)
____________________________________________________________

HEAVY SUPPORT

ORK FLIERS
(no changes)

Notes:
1. Need to find out transport capacity of Chinork Warcopta to spell out that upper limit on embarked mob of Ork Boyz.
2. Possibly give Ork Fliers in Heavy Support the, "squadron," option with same rules/limitations as the Imperial Guard's, "squardon rules," for tanks.
3. Possibly do rules for a, "static," version of the Grot Bomb Launcher as an additional Heavy Support choice & remove them from Fast Attack choice. Also maybe should limit the number of Grot Bombs, they are overpowering at max choice.
4. Zagstrukk is the only established character that seemed to make sense to allow into the list.
5. Maybe create a "Red Barork" Deffkopta-flying Warboss character??

DEFF FROM ABOVE!

The ONLY issue is see is limted ground support for 6th edition, where if you have no troops left on the ground at the end of a turn, you automatically lose. You would have to be very careful of that.

But as a theme army and playing in a scenario type environment, I think it would be time to break out the Wagner and crank up the volumne!!! I LUV DA SMELL O BURNIN' HUMIES IN DA MORNIN'. Kilgore was an Ork, no doubt about it.
