I am working on a WWI early war project. I am building an early War Austro-Hungarian army. I have been using Pendraken figures but their current range is limited. Does anyone know of other figures in the Pendraken range that could be used for dismounted cavalry, Bosnian infantry, or gun limbers? Also, does anyone know of other makers in 10 mm that I can look at. I am interested in hearing from other people doing WWI in this scale |

Other 10mm ranges are from Irregular link and Magister Militum link It seems only Pendraken does austrians! |

Have you had a good rummage through the Pendraken Mid East range – that has quite a lot of stuff that can be generally useful. I would also have a look at late 19th C ranges as well, a lot of the 1914 uniforms were still from an earlier era! Which gun limbers are you looking for, as Pendraken have quite a variety in different ranges. It would be worth posting this over on the Pendraken forum as well. I have some of the MM French, and I'm not sure they would go in the same unit as Pendraken figs – the MM are quite a bit chunkier (but are very nice figures) |

I thought there might be other Pendraken figure that would work but they post images of only a few figures. For limbers, I was looking for something similar to the American civil war. Your idea of going to the Pendraken forum is a good one. Thanks for the suggestions. |

Yes more pictures of Pendraken stuff would be good. At their forum you are likely to get photos posted by customers of stuff they have bought (I have lots of photos of Pendraken models posted online, but I don't think any of the era you are looking for). But I have no idea what 1914 Bosnian infantry look like!! They are also good at supplying custom packs, so if you want ACW limbers with WWI riders or horses they may well be able to do this. |

Hi What sort of early war dismounted cavalry are you after? The WW1 Polish could be used for Polish Legion/dismounted uhlans. Bosnian infantry – Pendraken has SCW Moroccan Falange militia in fez similar to this:-
And Colonial Sudan Egyptian infantry with fez:-
The limbers in the British WW1 range are fairly generic with no limber riders or outriders. I'd definitely go to the Pendraken forum though. People may have better pictures or suggestions. Cheers GrumpyOldMan |

You should get on Pendraken's message boards and ask them to develop Austrians. I got a hunch that with the 100th Anniversary of the 1914 Campaign approaching they will begin work soon, and your suggestion could speed that up. |

Thanks for all the ideas. I joined the forum and will make some inquiries. I am going to follow up on all your suggestions. It so happens that this project did grow out of an interest in the approaching centennial and a recent visit to some Italian front Battlefields. |
