Finished the latest unit for my current Napoleonics project, the 5th Silesian Landwehr cavalry. Happy that this is the last Silesian unit for it… I was getting sick of all the yellow! Minis are Calpe with the exception of the casualty being jumped over:

Enjoy,

Burkhard

And the usual pre-view (with more on the blog):

Please excuse the slightly glossy look. I use a varnish that dries best with UV light and the weather was just too poor for that the past few days, but they will turn a falt finish in a couple of weeks.

Blue with yellow facings is a really nice color combo.

Very nice Burkhard. I have yet to paint any Silesian troops for my Prussian army, so am still looking forward to the blue/yellow combo.

Wonderful. Any good tips for painting yellow?

14th Brooklyn29 Sep 2012 4:44 a.m. PST

Thank you both!

@dam0409: Try to work over a light coloured base with yellow as it will be more vibrant that way. I found that P3 "Sulfuric Yellow" is a nice yellow and gives strong coverage which is rare with yellows.

once agian you have made dull looking Prussians look outstanding…My Twin wishes he could paint half as good as you do …;)

Look great! I know you said your ready to move on from the blue and yellow but I have to agree with idontbelieveit its a very nice color combo.
The pink snouts on the white and grey horses adds a nice touch of realism.

Well done

Thanks a lot guys!

Runicus: You humble me!

Ashenduke: I actually hate painting horses. So I always have to look at photos while painting them and these things are always infront of my eyes that way.

Lovely figures you have there, Bob.

14th Brooklyn29 Sep 2012 11:39 p.m. PST

Thanks guys!

@14 bore: They are not part of the current project. Not sure which units the next project involving Prussians will include though. Sorry!

Thats OK, I'm sure you'll get there some day. Love the stands and leaping over the dead/wounded.
