"Israel doubts Iran has drone data: defence official by Staff Writers Tel Aviv (AFP) Oct 29, 2012 A senior officer in Israel's northern command on Monday dismissed an Iranian claim they were in possession of data transmitted by an unmanned Hezbollah drone that overflew Israel earlier this month.
"I don't think there was a camera," he said, speaking on condition of anonymity, although he admitted the incident was "still being investigated." link |

What restricts the range of a UAV is not how far it can physically fly but how far it can maintain a comms link with the Ground Data Terminal (GDT). So unless the Iranians had a covert GDT/or receiver terminal they must have sat comms. In our operations the easy option is always to stick the GDT on a tower/pile of containers! Tally Ho! |

I do believe that the last few tries by the Iranians to launch a satellite didn't quite make it. Robert |

"Iran insists it obtained drone images of Israel by Staff Writers Tehran (AFP) Oct 31, 2012 Iran insisted on Wednesday that it had obtained images of sensitive areas of Israel from a Hezbollah drone before it was shot down, despite the Jewish state questioning if the aircraft carried a camera.
"The fact that we have obtained the images of many areas that are important for us is the proof that we have conducted a successful mission," Revolutionary Guards' spokesman Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif told the ISNA news agency. "They (Israelis) must know that we possess the information we need on necessary areas in case a particular situation" arises, Sharif said, indicating that they could be potential targets for Iranian retaliation in the event of an Israeli attack on Tehran's nuclear sites." link I guess that it would be too much to produce those images? Wouldn't an explosive suicide drone essentially be a missile? Albeit a slow one. |

Since a missile or drone isn't alive would it really be "suicide"? LOL Robert |

Only as long as the Predator can shoot back! |

Naw. The aim would be to get the Predator off the board by not getting shot down. Not sure what system would work that has one opponent just maneuvering in order not to be shot down and the other opponent being the one trying to shoot him down. Robert |
