Hello folks. I'm trying my hand for the first time at some SYW subjects, 6mm Baccus French, and wanted to share some photos. It was the models themselves that got me into the period, and I actually don't have any experience with relevant rule sets. I was wondering, what are some of people's favorite SYW rules for use with 6mm figures, based in units like these? Thanks – James More photo available here: link

Very well painted and the photography is great. I have found it to be very hard to photograph 6mm troops. I usually get too close and you see too much "detail" (more then the human eye can normally see without magnification). |

Fantastic! I like Might and Reason. Two bases make a unit. |

You might try "Maurice" also written by Sam Mustapha like M&R. Free quick play version on his web site. |

Thanks Ted, much appreciated. Fabrizio, I love the look of your army. Is that basing style, with the separate groups of soldiers and the artillery piece installed on the same base as the infantry, just a personal/ historical style preference, or is that necessary or encouraged for Volley and Bayonet itself? Either way, looks really great. - James |

It is my choice: Volley and Bayonet cares only about the base size (3"x1.5" for a regimental stand). I like the idea to represent the two battalions with color party and battalion gun. Glad to know you like my minis: yours are very nice and I like so much your painting style. Fabrizio |

I'm growing rather fond of 'Rank and File' for my 6mm gaming. I like the 10 bases per unit and the smaller Brigade to Division level feel of the rules. |

Thanks for the recommendation Narratio, I'll have to look in to that one too. But whoa, 10 bases per unit!? I think I need to paint faster! – James |

Those are better than many 15's and even some 28's I've seen
well, well done! |

Our group uses Black Powder for 6mm games (one base per Regiment). It offers what i want out of a game – fast play and fun. Worth a look. Phil |

Thanks for the recommendation Phil. I had thought Black Powder was only played with larger, individually based figures, but now I'll have to check it out. - James |
