If so, the Society of Ancients will be running a join in on the day DBA event. If interested, you can use your own army (if you bring one) or we will have some spares available. Just come to the SoA stand.
15mm, any valid army is allowed from AD 410 to AD 1066*. No terrain required. One list (all elements must be selected in advance for the event), normal dismounting rules etc. apply. Armies that actually fought in Britannia within the period also qualify for the 'Dux Britanniae' award. Phil Steele soawargamesteam.blogspot.co.uk *DBA version 2.2 lists Eastern Front |

I'll be there
. Just in case people are not sure where it is.. it is in St Andrews Hall. There is a multi storey car park around the corner, there's a cafe on site and you are only a hundred yards or so from the castle! Doors open from 10am til 4pm and entry is £3.00 GBP I think. I'm putting on a 6mm Wars of Spanish Succession game. Come and have a look
.. see you all there ;-) Rob |

Just doing the late calls, guys
Sorry if the Eastern Front pre-publicity wasn't strong enough. Would have been great to see you. Looks like it'll be a nice day in Norfolk but I hope everybody has a good day – wherever they end up. Phil |

Sorry I missed it, but prior appoinments took precedence. The photos Ive seen look great. If only I had known about it a reasonable time in advance Id have been able to go. You guys really need to get your publicity sorted out

Fair comment, 1815Guy
prepublicity is an issue (I think a lot of it is that the organiser has great enthusiasm but too small a team). The DBA stuff came my way late in the day but I resolved to go with it and get some games going with anyone who wanted. We had half a dozen players in the end, some first-timers
and it certainly kept me entertained and I made some new contacts – so modest, light-hearted but 'all good' and I'm glad I made the effort. The players seemed to have enjoyed themselves (though that isn't really for me to say). The games around the rest of the show looked good (I will post some pictures in due course) but I think numbers may have suffered a little of the 'Colours last week/Partizan the week before' syndrome (as well as the publicity issue you mention). New Buckenham Wargamers have a lot of very good photos on Facebook. It shows some real potential for this show. link |
