Just finished up some more of Hydra Miniatures latest releases.
My Space Pirates for War Rocket.
I wanted to stick with a black and white theme, both as sort of a dark camouflage but also as a nod to the Jolly Roger flag. So I painted them Reaper Blackened Steel, blending in some Vallejo Silver for highlights and straight up silver for details. Then I added several coats of P3 Armor Wash to darken it up. Canopes were Testors Gloss Black and the rocket nozzles were Reaper Scorched Metal with Vallejo Flourescent Orange. The ends of the nacelles are Vallejo Gunmetal Blue.
The new additions to The Robot Legion were painted the same way I did the rest of my Robot Legion. Basically using Polly S Metalizer Copper paint and blending in some silver for highlights. Details were done with Testors Jade Metallic. The Eyes of the Centurions and Optios were done with a black background with a random white squiggle covered with a thinned flourescent orange to give it a 'plasma globe' look. I painted my The War of the Worlds Martian Warmachine kit with similar colors as it fits in well with my Robot Legion as sort of a grav tank for them.

Very nice! I always liked Hydra's "retro" look, and you did an excellent paint job on both the robots and the space ships. |
