To date I've had the M1A2SEP (incl both TUSK upgrades), the T-90 "Vladimir" (with new turret), the M1151, M1152 and M1165 designed in 15mm scale. All are in various degrees of completion.

So what's next? What modern vehicle do you really want to see made? Am leaning toward the C2 desertised with extra armour pack, or perhaps the venerable T-54/5, but am open to persuasion. grin

Am crossposting to sci fi as the sci fi guys get mad when I post a modern thread and don't crosspost -- can't tell you how much of my newish modern stuff goes to use as sci fi!

Eww, where to start!?

1) The current Russian jeep (GAZ-2330),
2) The Chinese ZBD-09 AFV,
3) The Chinese Type 96 tank,
4) Polish KTO Rossomak,
5) Russian T-90 (Indian Bishima).

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2012 6:55 p.m. PST

Type 96 is a good choice. Then I'd have to make chinese infantry though. wink

Hazza31B13 Sep 2012 7:01 p.m. PST

Leopards 1A5, bergepanzer, Leopard 2A6 and leclerc ,

infojunky13 Sep 2012 7:01 p.m. PST

Cars
Pickup Trucks
SUVs
Etc.. Etc…

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2012 7:02 p.m. PST

I mean military vehicles.

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2012 7:06 p.m. PST

Leo 2A7+ and the AMX56, both good choices….

Yes please!

LAV-III and Nyala.

Micropanzer13 Sep 2012 7:21 p.m. PST

how about a rule set to go with all your minis?

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2012 7:29 p.m. PST

That is not a modern vehicle! grin

I'm an old fashioned guy, I make the models, I let another chap write the rules….

McWong7313 Sep 2012 7:30 p.m. PST

Sweden's S Tank. Easily re-purposed for SF. Doubt you'll sell that many though…

Challenger 2 and Leopard 2 would be towards the top my list. I'd rather see a PLA Type 99 over the 96 but would buy a lot of either, no question. If you wanted to be really interesting with PLA tanks I'd look to do an MBT 3000, which is just over the horizon.

T80 is also a good choice, as is the Type 90 Japanese MBT.

For me I'd prefer MBT's that are at the bleeding edge today, rather than the older more venerable models out there. It allows me to re-purpose the tanks for SF gaming more easily.

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2012 7:33 p.m. PST

What about the South Korean black panther? I love that thing!

McWong, seriously considered the newest version of the type 99, the one with the higher-up engine compartment. MBT3000 might be tough to design! Plus these things get cancelled all the time, viz: black eagle, BTR-90.

McWong7313 Sep 2012 7:43 p.m. PST

The K2 is a neat tank, and I believe it's been sold to Turkey as well. I'll be in for that.

I saw a pic a while back of a bleeding edge Russian design that they want to have at proto type stage by 2015. I can't recall the name (it had a name rather than a alpha – numerical designation) but the design really looked SF. Had what looked like twin AA gatlings on either side of the turret.

The Type 99 is pretty much a sure bet, I agree on the MBT3000. Looks gorgeous though.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP13 Sep 2012 7:44 p.m. PST

@McWong, Type 99 has been canceled, and Type 96 is far more numerous. I'd buy either one though, in spades.

Leopard is a good call. The Arhun II is a great call!

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2012 7:45 p.m. PST

I like the K2 because it's the worlds most expensive tank, so I can charge more for it.

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2012 7:47 p.m. PST

Type 99 has been cancelled?

McWong7313 Sep 2012 7:53 p.m. PST

Wow, I wonder what they're going to do with the 250 + that are already in service…

Garand13 Sep 2012 7:57 p.m. PST

Personally I'd like to see a new-sculpt M60A1/A3. PLenty of countries still use it, and it could be a bases for future Mag'ach variants. Plus I love the M60 series!

Damon.

Grizzly, AVLB, zsu-23-4

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP13 Sep 2012 8:01 p.m. PST

Speaking of M-60s, how about some Turkish AFV's?

Pars 8 wheeler, Otokar Defender (widely exported), and the Altay.

McWong7313 Sep 2012 8:21 p.m. PST

+1 for Uesugi Kenshin.
So make the K2! Just without the leather seats and reverse parking sensors and iPod connectivity. Should bring the price down.

Natholeon13 Sep 2012 8:27 p.m. PST

Viking for the Brits.
Another vote for the Arjun.

doug redshirt13 Sep 2012 8:32 p.m. PST

I like the idea of the latest tanks to be used for Near Future stuff. Could use a helicopter or two to counter the Doe. I wouldn't mind some Iranians either.

infojunky13 Sep 2012 9:37 p.m. PST

Not military vehicles!?!

Besides the Aircraft Carrier, PBRs, Gigs, Motor Whaleboats and Landing craft Cars, Vans and Pickup trucks where the military vehicles I drove.

Landrovers where pretty common too, but mostly with allied militaries.

Oh and 2.5ton trucks for the Jarheads….

Oh! I for forgot armored SUVs are quite popular amongst Private Military companies, law enforcement and Paramilitaries.

Hazza31B13 Sep 2012 9:55 p.m. PST

Boxer looks like a LAV III

I've driven leopard 1, M1A1AIMD, LAV and M113. Also mogs, rovers etc.

Sloppypainter13 Sep 2012 10:07 p.m. PST

I'd love to see the Polish Rossomak available.

Honestly I would start with vehicles not made by other manufacturers and then go from there.

Any ultra-modern PLA vehicles

Russia: T-90, UAZ-469 (PP makes one, but still widely used all over, so it would sell well), GAZ-2975 Tigr, GAZ-3937 Vodnik, BPM-97, BTR-T, T-72's & T-80's with newer ERA suites.

US: Stryker (QRF makes it, but this one would sell well, like the UAZ-469 above). M1A2 TUSK, MRAP's.

Germany: Puma, Leopard 2A6 & A7

For Russia/Georgia conflict would love to see the Otokar Cobra, and am still holding out for the Czech Dana/Zuzana (my favorite military vehicle of all time).

Czech OT-64 SKOT (widely exported and still used, surprised no one makes any).

Others: Polish Rosomak & PT-91 Twardy. Indian Arjun.

South Korean and Japanese vehicles would be useful, though not an area of interest myself. Would like to game PLA vs. Taiwanese, US, Indians and/or Vietnamese for the Far East.

Samulus14 Sep 2012 3:49 a.m. PST

I realise this is non-specific but hopefully you can infers something useful.

Basically I'd like to be able to field at least a basic near-future/ultramodern force from the US, Russia and China, and perhaps India/Pakistan. Also whatever the Israelis are using atm might be a good shout if they aren't already being sold.

Does anyone make the challenger 2?

Wartopia14 Sep 2012 5:33 a.m. PST

Strykers, definitely Strykers at least through company level but battalion would be nice too. We game company per side so the company level assets are crucial and it's nice to represent attached battalion-level assets.

khurasanminiatures14 Sep 2012 5:57 a.m. PST

Cold Warrior, I already had the TUSK M1A2 and T-90 made.

Buckeye AKA Darryl14 Sep 2012 6:00 a.m. PST

Not modern, but Cold War…M-24s (Chaffee)

picture

and M-41s (Walker Bulldog)!

Would like the Jadgpanzer Kanone as well.

picture

Gennorm14 Sep 2012 6:12 a.m. PST

Another vote for the Kanone. The VW Iltis is also unavailable and the NM135 would be good.

David Miniature Armies14 Sep 2012 6:57 a.m. PST

QRF makes the Challenger 2

leidang14 Sep 2012 7:09 a.m. PST

My vote is the Condor APC, used by Malaysian forces in the Black Hawk down Rescue Convoy.

With the popularity of all things Black Hawk Down I would think there would be a market for it. I know I currently use VAB's but would quickly buy 16 condors if they were available to be more accurate.

devilinthedetails14 Sep 2012 7:33 a.m. PST

Cold War, but what the hey…

picture

ROUWetPatchBehindTheSofa14 Sep 2012 9:10 a.m. PST

Okay, what the heck is that?

I second early cold war, its a period that's been on my wish list since reading a SOTCW article on Pentatomic Divisions.

edit/ And its the perfect period for seeing seeing off alien and monster invasions

khurasanminiatures14 Sep 2012 9:13 a.m. PST

This is modern vehicles only -- in widespread use today.

flicking wargamer14 Sep 2012 9:17 a.m. PST

Iraqi cabs.

leidang14 Sep 2012 9:56 a.m. PST

Modern fast patrol water craft would be cool as well.
