Played this scenario on Tuesday in our 'Murdistan' campaign. A British platoon attempts to seize control of a port facility from the Murdistani irregular forces. Will the coalition successfully take the port with minimal casualties, or will the Murdistani gunmen cause a storm of propaganda by giving the British a bloody nose early on in the campaign? Find out over at my blog: link |

Thanks guys. I think the key for us is that we are comfortable with the rules, so the games really flow now. There was only one or two times we needed the book, mostly for the tank shooting the building. That doesn't happen every day! :) I'd say FoF is definitely a ruleset you need to properly learn and it'll take a couple of games to get the hang of it, but it's very rewarding when you do. |

Hi, As leader of the Murdistani Mujaheydeen, I'd like to say the game was another excellent piece of entertainment. Goodwood is right in saying that once you learn the game properly, Force on Force is very rewarding. I'd also like to praise the "Road to Bagdad" scenario book. So far it has delivered two really entertaining and challenging games and I'm really looking forward to the next one. If you are thinking of trying FoF I'd highly recommend it as a game but I'd also recommend "Road to Bagdad". Not only does it have greatly enjoyable scenarios but they also cover just about every element of the rules so that as you play them you learn more and more about the game. Since we'd already tried infantry and light armour, in the Umm Qasr game we tried heavy armour and soon we'll be able to handle mixed forces of insurgents and regulars, indirect fire, and air support as we progress through the rest of the scenarios in the book. All the best, George. |
