That's a really interesting idea for the crewman. I think I'd want to see how it looks from a normal gaming distance. Up close, it's not too convincing to me. It may be the angle of the body that's doing it. I think it might work better with the figure more visibly inclined into the vehicle (i.e. shoulders leaning out more, so that the putative bend in his waist is not backwards). As it is, he looks too much like he's been lopped off.

The piece is a single metal casting, doors and crewman, from Kellys Heroes to fit the Britannia model.

Then Kellys Heroes did rather a poor job on the geometry. You did a great job on the painting.
