Shameless Advertisement:

Following on the success of the other two titles in this series (WWII and ACW) we've had a set of Napoleonic rules under development for about two years. The Napoleonic version is a bit more complicated (by necessity) than either the WWII or ACW versions, but it is still clean. In convention play tests we've found that players are comfortable with the basic mechanics after just a couple of turns.

I'm just about done with the first full draft of the book. I'm just completing the illustrative photographs and some of the examples. We hope to have the book out in time for Fall In! I'll be running four games with the rules at that convention.

The information you need to play the game is on small labels on the figures' bases and some special dice that you make for the game. This streamlines play with only a slight aesthetics penalty. More information and pictures of some games in progress can be found at link

I have some photos on my blog of a playtest I took part in at Cold Wars:

Buck,

Looks like the pics on the website match the game I saw at Historicon. "Control the three river bridge crossings". The game seemed to flow pretty well and kept my attention.

I have four or five "stock" scenarios I've been using for play testing. The three-bridge scenario is one of them. At Fall In, one of the scenarios I'll be running is Echlingen (1805). We've played it several times in the club. It's a pretty good five-player game.

Glad you thought the game and rules looked interesting. I've been gratified by the fact that players who have sworn off Napoleonic gaming like these rules -- as do Napoleonic aficionados.
