Review of MJ's 15mm Falklands range.

Thanks again to Mark at MJ Figures.

I can't say much about the figures in terms of accuracy but they do look nice, moreover Mark is a very nice bloke and has helped me when I needed advice.
Top man.

Be warned though- these guys are more like 18mm than than 15mm so they will really dwarf your more true 15mm castings. They are pretty close in size to my Platoon 20 Vietnam War figures. Still they are very nice figures!

When I was talking to him at one of the shows Mark described the Falklands Range as 18mm (including the penguins).

On the other hand his Afghan range is 15mm and has lots of interesting types including cavalry and Chinese rocket launchers. Well worth a look.

@Andoreth, I've been eying up the Afghans and Russians for a while as well for Afghanistan 80-89. I like the look of the Spetsnaz,Naval Infantry and Air Assault troops, but WHY does every 15mm manufacturer make VDV troops in berets?

GeoffQRF09 Sep 2012 12:31 p.m. PST

Because a) it distinguishes them as paras and b) you can use ordinary Russians as paras in helmets

werwulf09 Sep 2012 12:56 p.m. PST

Well then by that reasoning, shouldn't Russian Naval infantry wear Side Caps, or Navy Caps instead of Helmets? ;)

GeoffQRF10 Sep 2012 2:27 a.m. PST

Everybody knows that Naval infantry never fight in side caps, they are just for parade :-)

Lowtardog12 Sep 2012 1:58 a.m. PST

Russian Naval VDV would also wear berets :0)
