Any update on the possibility of metal versions Javelin? Indeed, any updates of the stuff you have been working on? |
javelin98 | 12 Jul 2013 3:48 p.m. PST |
Yes! I had to run a second set of masters from Shapeways, and those are currently bathing in Simple Green to remove the waxy support agent used in the printing process. I'll be cleaning them up this weekend and will ship them off to the caster. He'll do some test casts and let me know what other modifications might need to be made. I wish I could give you a decent estimate, but
I'd hate to give anyone false hopes that they'll be ready before, say, Christmas. |

My word, there are some lovely buildings there, javelin! I am very tempted to ask if those beauties could be scaled up to 6mm at some point – the architecture in that scale is pretty lacklustre IMO, and that ziggurat, the medical centre and the tower blocks would defiantly spice things up! |

Any news is good news Javelin! Thanks. |
javelin98 | 18 Jul 2013 3:24 p.m. PST |
Sure, I can easily scale those up! I also had a wild hare and drew up some modular buildings -- a different take on the "stackable floors" concept. I'll put some pics of those up this weekend. Here's a picture of the inspiration for that ziggurat, BTW:

Just an FYI, I shipped off the masters to the manufacturer this past weekend. They'll do some test moulds and casts, and then decide which lines they can put into production. My hope is for all of them, of course, but we'll see! I also will post a pic or two of a new, less conventional line I've been thinking about sometime in the next few days. I could really use some input as to how best to tackle it to meet gamers' needs! |

Looking forward to seeing them! |

Any more news on the buildings, Javelin? |
javelin98 | 18 Sep 2013 12:14 p.m. PST |
*sigh* I haven't printed them yet, as I've had a number of technical issues crop up. Still, I have a free weekend coming up, so I'll see if I can wrap those up and order them to see in the flesh. I also have two new styles of grav tanks that I'll post some pictures of, and an itsy-bitsy Rhino that I just couldn't help but make while I watched "Breaking Bad" last night

Okay, some pics of the latest stuff! This first set is going to the printer soon. It's a line of grav tanks, with more rounded lines than I usually go for. Comments welcome!

Next is another set of grav tanks. I'm trying to decide what else to add. I usually make an MBT, MLRS, IFV, ATGM, artillery piece, SAM, C3V, and an engineer vehicle. This set has an MBT, MLRS, IFV, and a meson artillery projector. What else should I add?

Here are some concepts I'm playing around with. Not sure where to go with these next. The "Hatchet" family of anti-grav vehicles:
A ball-drive vehicle. This thing is like a wheeled vehicle, only its wheels can turn in any direction at any time. This is just an MBT, for starters.
And just for fun
a Rhino! Perfect for those Warblammer 40.3K games you always wanted. I just couldn't resist!

Well, that~s two sales to me! |

You have been nusy Javelin! I must say i like the hatchet shape and remote mount. Maybe smooth off the corners ever so slightly. maybe a slope to the front of the flat top too. Yes it needs some work, but it is quite different. I would like it better without jets though – maybe another grav-but no so much to make it a deal breaker. I like them. Of the first two grav designs, i like the second one better. I think the nature of the indent at th front makes it look a bit like two o pontoon sections. great work on curving the hull though and a nice turret design on the tank. i want to see more

I personally prefer the first 2 but all 4 would be welcome . Any ideas when they might be available ? |
Covert Walrus | 21 Sep 2013 8:25 p.m. PST |
Liking them all – some variety in grav tanks would be great especially in 6mm . . . Don't suppose there are any plans to scale up some of the 3mm designs, Javelin? |

Any updates on the Infantry figures, Jav? |

Power armor! Power armor! Power armor! :) |

@CW: Sure, just let me know which ones you want! @jeffbird and Macunaima: Sadly, I haven't been able to get them to print successfully. I just got a copy of Autodesk, however, and I'm learning how to use it. Hopefully, that program will allow for designing at a smaller scale without some of Sketchup's inherent limitations. We'll see! |

Cheers for the update and good luck, mate. |

Just a couple of comments – I'm thinking those AFVs posted on the 18th would work very well with the Onslaught Avians, if scaled up to 6mm. Or the Hatchet line as well – Very alien feel to the design, but practical for grav tanks nonetheless. And I just received a pack of your turrets in TD: They were purchased with an alternate fitting to the Thor from Brigade in mind, and while a fitting has not been made, they certainly appear to be perfect for the job! |

Any new plans, Javelin? Not pushing you, just curious about the creative and what they do :) |

Great stuff! When can we buy it? |
javelin98 | 29 Nov 2013 11:37 p.m. PST |
I'm still waiting on the caster to do up the test molds and casts, so that's where we're at for the moment. I've been ginning up some new buildings, though, including a couple inspired by Logan's Run, a modern amphitheater, an eggbeater windmill, and a couple other small things in the terrain department. Stay tuned! |

Aw, bloody hell!! I can't believe I didn't notice that, with as much of a fan as I am of your stuff! Okay, now I'm thinking something along the lines of "the Wedgies". It has a certain ring to it. |
MrAverage | 12 Dec 2013 3:54 p.m. PST |
I knew if I looked someone would be doing this – I love the concept and the execution, both! Any chance I could finagle you into doing some 3mm scale BOLOs? Multi-weapon superheavy robotic tanks are SO hard to come by, and these forces look tailor-made to fight them. |
javelin98 | 17 Dec 2013 5:18 p.m. PST |
I've already whipped a few up, MrAverage! I just need to refine them to a point where they can be printed successfully. I have a couple other projects in the queue, but the BOLOs will be coming eventually. |
