I already have Conquest of the Empire, which is nice, but I am looking for something with different models. Preferably something in print.

Any suggestions?

And, while boar games are always nice, a "board" game would be even better.

Unfortunately, I get stuck with "bore games."

Not "galleys" and long out of print, but Milton Bradly had a game called "Broadside" where you had a fleet of I think 10 ships for each side. It had the hull with 4 holes in it, where you stuck your sails. With each hit, you removed a sail. And you only had enough to make a couple of 4 sail ship-of-the-lines. The rest were 1,2 and 3.

I remember I had 3 sets, and had a really great time with them after I stopped useing the board that came with it. A few of the hulls were painted a different color to represent pirates.

They also had Conquest of Empire (same series as Axis & Allies) that has a handful of galleys for each roman faction.

I remember some board game that had plastic galleys, temples and road sections. You could build the latter two items thoughout the game as you resourcs increased.

Is this Conquest of Empire by any chance.

Yes DAF.

I also have a few games of Broadside for larger battles. Great game. I got mine on ebay. If you are patient, you can get it at a decent price. It is a large box, so shipping will cost.

Which Conquest of the Empire do you have? The newer one by Eagle Games has nicer ships than the old MB one.

Cyclades has got some. Each faction has it's own unique sculpt, which is a nice touch. Plus it has got a Kraken.

That looks great! And I love the variety of the ships. Thank you!
