Do you have units in your wargames that always:sink, die, run away, duck, brew up or crash? What do you do with them? a) Keep on playing them. b) Give them away to your friend. c) Re-paint them for better luck. d) Reread the rules to make sure they don't blow up on a "2". e) Give up playing that game. f) Put them into storage in the basement, in the back. g) Something else. h) I never have units like that. |

a. What other answer is there? The new unit I have just painted is always the worst. (I painted it so well! I got so many compliments! oh well, take it off the table.) Despite this, I remain utterly unshaken in my belief that the newest painted unit fights the best. How else would I get any painting done? |

I have a unit of gauls that always has the misfortune of being trampled by elephants in our ancients games. |

My saxon cavalry. Not really surprising I suppose, but they do seem to get clobbered a tad too easily. I think I'm going to beef them up and have a decent mounted Northumbrian army, rather than one piddly wee unit trotting around outside the shieldwall. Can't say it'll work any better, but it'll look nice. I just have to resist painting white horses on the shields. ----- Warren B. minisculpture.co.uk |

Yes, for sure And I keep on playing with them for sure because getting crumped is in their nature The two that spring to mind are: 1) My Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard – always get killed, always back in for the next game 2) My Celts – get hammered to bits by the Romans/Carthaginians/Britons every game, but again, always back in next game It seems to fit them well Best wishes MJR |

Whatever unit I give to my older brother to command. Case in point: at Historicon this year he was in command of the Paraguayan cavalry column at the Tuyuti game I put on. They reluctantly arrived on the field and proceeded to roll "1" consistantly to move. They weren't so much soldiers as disinterested spectators. I could have given him the Stonewall brigade or the Brigade of Guards and witnessed the exact same performance. Of course I will continue to play them. They are pretty.

A. I have a platoon of T35s that often enter the battle only to become the focus of German, or Finnish antitank fire. Every weapon available is used soonest on them. This makes sense to me as they're so big and dangerous looking. But the T35 is not so well protected as Char Bs, or Matildas. A 37mm A/T gun can take one out at normal range quite handily. So they suffer, but they can be fun. The only reason they don't feature in too many games is that the Soviets only had one battalion of them. |

the NSL heavy Cruiser "Norwood" ( after NFL kicker) It never seems to do any serious damage in any game of Full thrust that it has appeared . Oppenents that know ignore it for harder hitting targets . |

A of course. However I once knew a guy who had armies painted up for him and only played with them till they lost. Then he prounced them cursed and sold them for a fraction of what it cost him. A lot of otherwise successful armies floating around because of him back in the day. |
