HI This creature IS NOT FINISHED! I still needs lots of scales to be added and some final touches on it face.
Just want to share some work in progress with you. This is a Swamper subspecies, but covered in light scale armor. For moving this creature uses its tentacles and muscles on its belly. This is slow creature who eats plants and some small shelled creatures. This creature lives in swamps, and uses its scales for protection from surface creatures. If its under attack it can dig itself in mud leaveing only armored back above mud level.
Here are some original Swamper photos link

Thanx for replies! This is not a new version, but a new species. Armored creature is slow and more like turtle. It can live only in shallow water. It have big eyes so it can se in dirty swamp water. But original Swamper is more agile and can live on land near the waterline like mudskippers. quote//////////// lets just hope that they do reach the production stage. ///////////////// Dont worry :) Whey are going into 15mm.co.uk SHM range 15mm.co.uk/SHM_Range.htm

Cool stuff Sir Fjodin, swamp beasties are among my favourites. And I'm a Muddy Mudskipper fan too. Cheers, TC. |

The new version definitely has a lot more going on and in a good way. All those scales are tricky to get right and to make look right. I have yet to try anything like that. Are you adding each one separately? -Eli |

Separately

More progress. Please bear in mind that even if creature looks big on photo, its a small crature. Its base is 13 mm long.

SirFjodin, Very cool! By the way, how are the toothy alien slugs coming along? I can't find the thread right now, but they reminded me a lot of the slug aliens in the film "Dreamcatcher":
Thanks, Dan |

Love this armored swamp bug. Great figure. All that work is paying off in a great texture. I can see the snazzy painters out there picking out each scale and giving it a complex color pattern like a Gila Monster. -Eli |

Today I completely finished scaling one side and there is only 1/4 of another side left. I also cuted miniature base to minimum.

Swampers have very tasty meat and can be raised as livestock by farmers. Typical Swamper farm should look close to these rice fields, but with fences:
