We would like to invite you to attend Recruits as we celebrate our 20th show held in Lee's Summit, Missouri SE of Kansas City inside the spacious Lee's Summit High School field house. The aim of Recruits has always been to recruit new wargamers into the hobby as well as enjoying some great games with old friends. Our theme for Fall Recruits is "Old School is Cool!" Nearly all of the GMs who ran games at our very first Game's Day (the former name for Recruits) will be running those great games for us again. Prizes will be given to those who participate in at least one of these games but space will be limited. This Fall we have asked Robert Adams, author of When the Navy Walked and It Came From Beyond the Still and James Miller, artist and owner of Scrying Eye Games to come as our Special Guests. The fine folks from Arkansas will be once again hosting ~ Mr. Christian and The Mutineers at Recruits. Set Sail and weigh anchor in the Largest Pirate game in North America. Immerse yourself in over 700 square feet of playable terrain where you decide your scalawag's fate. Trade goods, plunder shipping lanes, hunt for lost treasure, destroy the enemies of the crown, feast with cannibals, or haunt the seas for eternity aboard the ghost ship Petit Mort. Sign up to captain one of twenty ships provided by our governor-referees or bring a 25mm scale ship of your own to assure a place in the game. Prizes will be awarded for best and worst Career, Nobel Service to the crown, most notable character and other things we make up as we go. We also reward swashbuckling costumes with priority of ship assignment. Admission remains $5.00 USD per person and students of all are FREE (for the entire weekend). We will be providing a paint-n-take area again, concessions and several tournaments, more information is available on our web page. The tournaments for this Fall are, Flames of War DBA Warmachine GW WH 40K Highlander CCG Magic The Gathering CCG recruits-con.com |

Recruits is only a couple weeks away and is pushing the limits on convention awesomeness. This is the best value convention in the midwest (maybe even the country) at only $5 USD for the entire weekend (free for students and soldiers). If you want to know what the convention is about I recommend this article that Bring-Your-A-Game e-zine wrote: link There is still time to register your game for the theme: "Old School is Cool" This is what gaming is all about. I hope to see everyone there. |

OK now its a party
.
A boat load of us are packing up and sailing for Recruits. Bigger than ever, the largest Pirate miniatures game in the U.S. is Hauling its Booty to Lee's Summit, Missouri. Join us once again as captains and heroes traverse 700 square feet of playable table space to claim fame and fortune on the Spanish Main. Our prize coffers are burst'n with swag as generous donations from Old Glory 25's will be sending more than a few captains home with their own ship or crew.
If you don't show the pirates will execute one 25mm miniature per hour until all spots are filled. A big thank you to Old Glory: link

When people think of DBA, they think of ancients and medievals. They think of the game as written. No problem with variations but they should be noted. There is RRR being played but no DBA. |

Bring Your A-Game had a blast at Fall Recruits, even though we were not able to provide the coverage this great convention deserves. We ran a game of It Came From Beyond the Still and served as a GM in the HUGE PIRATE GAME. We have posted a few brief articles about the show with a handful of photos over the weekend and yesterday. Today we have an AAR of the game of It Came From Beyond the Still. agamemag.com/archives/2185 We'll have an AAR of the pirate game later in the week. Thanks to Duane Fleck for another great show. |
