Building an Imagi-Nation army centered around French Zouaves with turbaned fez, so I am looking at support troops with turbans (or at least something close to a turban). Found the Pathan Artillery at Stone Mountain Miniatures and figured that would work. So now I need Cavalry….

Does anyone know if the French Spahis or the Taureg Cav from Stone Mountain is turbaned similar to the Spahis from Irregular?

Also open to any recommendations on completing the army.

Thanks!
Robert

The Spahis cavalry are uniformed in the turban with a large cloak over their uniforms. I havent seen the Tuareg figures though. Hope this helps.

I have some photos of Stone Mountain figs on my web site:

The best of the Spahis is this:

I have the Tauregs as well, but did not find and photos. They do have turbans and long flowing robes. The style is very much like this:

But with a bit wider turban.

Oh yes, if I recall, all the Tauregs have bare feet.

I like Stone Mountain Miniatures' figures. Although as I'm not doing any French stuff yet I can't answer your question. But I am interested in any answers as I'm thinking about starting a French force.
But DyeHards tanks are the stuff! You have my envy, Sir! Just too cool!

Thanks for the answers.

I will stick with the Spahis since bare feet would be a bit odd even if I painted them black ;/

I acquired a good amount of the FPW French at a swap meet and discovered I had enough Zouaves to actually build a Martian Empires army. Just needed to add cavalry and artillery. Even considered forgoing adding mechanized units and putting together horse drawn wagons mounting Gatling guns… a low-tech Technical!
