Mike Dryden has been trying to assemble a master list of wargames clubs and groups in Australia and New Zealand. He can be contacted via the following email address. mikedryden@bigpond.com Although there are numerous clubs on the www. The great majority do not seem to have keeping their contact details up to date as a high priority! Nine out of ten tested recently were no longer current. |

I've had one email adding two to the list – thanks Nick. (well, two emails if you count the lovely sounding favour02johnson@yahoo.co.uk who said "Remeber the distance or colour does not matter but love matters alot in life" – I'm sure the wife is happy to know that
) Of the 126 clubs I have listed, there are only 46 email addresses – and no guarantees they all work either! |

Mike and Mal (sounds like the Leyland Brothers, doesn't it?) Where is this master list kept for public consumption? I belong to several groups but as I can't stand the ridiculous Yahoo approach (so Nineties), I don't want to waste time double handling. |
MikelD | 15 Aug 2012 4:01 p.m. PST |
It's not kept anywhere public yet – it's only three days old so not at the point worth publishing. |

Yes Starkers..you are hereby appointed adjutant of the GVS and you may handle all the bumf regarding this matter ..no phone numbers only email, blog and fb links.. |

I dunno
.I never get suggestive email these days
.! Just stuff about winning lotteries I've never heard of and offers to buy viagra from Canada! THE LIST. But the list will be in two formats. One for putting up on the www where it is probably desirable to keep the information to formal contacts. And two, a more detailed one available to other clubs etc. HISTORYCON SOUTH AUSTRALIA was formed as a 'non'wargaming club. Its purpose is to put on, or to assist wargamers and clubs wanting to put on, wargames conventions, open days etc. The constitution of the HSA is for it to remain neutral of all clubs and their politics etc. Assistance has been promised from some traders, but it is from the wargamers that we need help in gathering information. Once complete the 'public' listings can be placed on the internet. The more complete version, including any non public contact details would be only available to clubs if they specifically asked for it to help plan events and agreed not to publish private data. If you send information, please draw attention to anything you dont want to have available on public formums. If you have any photographic id of the club, police mugshots and wanted posters of members are probably not the best to submit! |

Mike and Mal (sounds like the Leyland Brothers, doesn't it?) I hadn't thought of that. But I am easily identifiable as the typical tall handsome sun tanned Aussie, whereas Mike is a Kiwi. But strange email, and wondering if favour02johnson@yahoo.co.uk who said "Remeber the distance or colour does not matter but love matters alot in life" – has anything to do with sheep jokes
.the fact is Mike Dryden has proved to be an extremely valuable member of our HSA committee, so I am sure any directory he finally gets to finish, will be worthwile information for all wargames clubs to have. So please assist him if you can. Non formal wargames groups can be part of the listing, so it would be appreciated if you can let him know about those too. |

The only information I'm compiling at the moment is: Club name Suburb/city/state Website and/or Facebook Prez Name Email contact I'm not putting phone numbers on the list. That's just putting too much private(ish) information in public. People can organise their own lives enough to arrange sharing of that information among themselves. I'd be reluctant to put anything more than the first three lines in a public forum – for the sake of the spammers and other annoyances. I can't see any harm in all of the clubs having access to the Prez & email stuff. But right now, it's not far enough along to 'publish'. There are only about two degrees of separation here, so if everyone can tell everyone else that someone is doing this it shouldn't take too long to finish. I've had more details come in, and one club come back as now defunct. The more information I get, the more useful it may be. Mike |

I haven't checked, but have you asked for info via wargamerau? Newcastle Legions is active and has a Facebook page. Novocastrian Battlegamers is active but quiet, and I don't think they update their website. Good Games Newcastle sort of counts, I guess. |
MikelD | 16 Aug 2012 4:11 a.m. PST |
I ripped a great deal of the bones of the list from there. Didn't actually think to post there though, did I?! I have the Legions on the list, but no other details. So now I can go hunting in the wretched hive of scum and
no, hang on, sorry
Facebook. I must be cautious

Thanks for that. Is the Viagra available in 28mm? The Kardinal and Bluewillow and I should be able to compile a few details for you. |
French Wargame Holidays | 16 Aug 2012 7:47 p.m. PST |
I will send you a email Mal of my list! cheers Matt |

Is the Viagra available in 28mm? The Kardinal and Bluewillow and I should be able to compile a few details for you. Even if it is the viagra would be too large for my 15mm troops to swallow. I suppose my sappers could break them up into smaller bits, but dont bother yourselves too much I get lots of that Canadian spam anyway so if any put in a requisition I'll refer them there. |

All Thanks to all those who have sent me their club contact details. I've now got 128 clubs in the list, but only 49 email addresses! Please drop me a note with your club details. The aim is to get this 80% populated. Cheers Mike
