Does this mean you're buying everyone one? ;)

Is this going to be some sort of model kit? Would look nice next to my Space Battleship Yamato and Andromeda…

Damon.

Very cool. I love the quadrant shock cannons.

BlackWidowPilot Fezian14 Aug 2012 6:55 p.m. PST

The site AFAIK is fan art; I've corresponded with the artist once or twice and despite the language barrier I've the impression these creations are a labor of love (and some damn fine ones at that!).

Now if I can just get someone to make this beautiful beastie in miniature…evil grin

If this ever becomes a real model, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY NOW!

Good to see that "La Royale" getting their share of the future.

Yeah, the quad mounted main batteries is a great nod of the head to the WWII Richelieus.

I think that site is indeed all fan-art as Leland says, great to see it is still active though!

Twin wave motion weps. Whoo!

Klebert L Hall15 Aug 2012 5:51 a.m. PST

A lot of the later ships in that series had them.

I've been actively lobbying a few artists here and there to produce some EDF battleships based directly on the Richelieu in her '43 refit and the earlier Strasbourg and Dunkerque battlecruisers, quad gun turrets and all. I just didn't expect this artist to add a *third* such turret in the process… not that I'm the least bit unhappy about it, mind you…evil grin

Mr Erickson,
If I may be so bold as to suggest, as the operator of metal-express.net, you may be well situated to start a kickstarter to see this fine ship put into production.

BlackWidowPilot Fezian16 Aug 2012 10:00 p.m. PST

Well, I first have to (A) get Metal Express/Silent Death on an even keel, and then (B) I have to get the permission of the artist to use his IP for the ship mini, then (C) I need to procure funding and a 3D artist/sculptor who can do this French beauty justice…evil grin

Not that when I think I can get it done I'm not going to *try* to see it done… I am after all *incorrigible* by nature…evil grin
