What is this tank model from? A movie? TV show? Or is it just a one off tank model? Mike "Bunkermeister" Creek bunkermeister.blogspot.com |

Mike, One off (Bad Guy #1) tank. Some well known Japanese author's idea of what a dictator's tank would look like. No other models made (the packaging does create an expectation for a battleship but no, nada). You also get all the piggy crew and the piggy dictator. Mine is about a 1/4 finished
. no other models to go with it. Pigs are about 1/2 inch tall. I have downloaded a Porco Rosso paper model seaplane and some WW1-ish armoured cars. (and I have plans for an alliance of all my porcine forces (Star wars Gamorreans and Ugnaughts, Dr Who pig pilot and pig slave and cheap plastic pigs with the tank or maybe two of them as the centrepiece). Have a great day, Frank |

Google is your friend
This item is an injection-plastic kit of a science-fiction/anime item. The design of this amusing, fictional tank is by Hayao Miyazaki, the famed director of such splendid animated films as My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Despite his image as a creator of family-fare featuring young heroines, he's actually quite a military nut. Bad Guy #1 had been released as a completed model, and now those of us who want to build it, can do so with this terrific release! Bego does some superb work here, including texturing and rivet detail. Three little piggy tank crew members are included (one of them's an officer!), to populate a diorama! Tracks are rubber belts with injection plastic spikes for traction. Polycaps for moveable parts are included, too (the finished model looks like a lot of fun!). The main part of the upper hull, molded in a single piece, measures about 17.5 cm long. Have fun -- and go crazy on the paint scheme!! |

Thanks! On the pricey side for a plastic tank, but it's pretty big and I'm sure will be a lot of fun to build. I'll probably get one for the Quar project. |

I like the idea of using it for the Quar figures. |

IIRC the kit is availabe in two varients. One has the full crew of 20 or so figures (including mascot). The other has the extendable tower in extended form. |

Optional Field, Actually, the newer kit has 20 figs AND the extendible tower
Have a great day, Frank |

Thank you all for your help. I did try Googling it a bit and suspected it was a one off, but I had trouble confirming that. I was considering using is as a 1930's era US Army tank. There were several design proposels in the popular media about massive tanks. link link Thanks. Mike "Bunkermeister" Creek mediatealways.org bunkermeister.blogspot.com sgtsays.blogspot.com |
