Is it me or this alleged '25mm scout car' actually looks MUCH MORE LIKE a wheeled 15mm APC?

Come on look at the 28mm dude standing beside it, he's clearly oversized for it, while on the other hand the side panel looks perfect for a squad of 15mm riflemen to jump out of it.

The price is also excellent.

I think I am gonna order some.

republic of tolworth10 Aug 2012 3:10 a.m. PST

Your right, it does look very good for 15mm.
Not sure how it would work for 28mm?

Big Jim10 Aug 2012 3:46 a.m. PST

Remember, the Daemonscape line of vehicles are the old Ground Zero ones, so are scaled to the GZ true 25mm figures. Therefore putting a heroic scaled (32mm +) GW figure next to it will make it look small.

Moqawama10 Aug 2012 4:10 a.m. PST

Ok but given most 'Sci Fi 15mm' based and all will come in at 17-19mm they would still be circa half of that heroic 32mm GW figure, right?…now imagine a 18mm fig close to that side panel…it matches!

Big Jim10 Aug 2012 4:41 a.m. PST

Very true, I think it would certainly be a good fit for 15mm.

clkeagle10 Aug 2012 6:00 a.m. PST

I think I'd still change that side panel. APC doors are rarely so large compared to a human. It would be as simple as filing off that little "handle" piece and adding a smaller cardstock or plasticard panel/hatch over the current "door."

Otherwise it would be a great 15mm IFV. And the associated dropship is perfect as a 15mm vehicle, but that's already been discussed a few times. :)

I agree to the above.

The 28mm guy's thick base isn't helping anything either.

As mentioned, they were meant to go with true 25mm figs, but I think they work better with the larger 15mm scale figs (which are really about 18mms now).

The Bebop10 Aug 2012 8:27 p.m. PST

Yeah I think almost all of those Daemonscape vehicles would work rather well with 15mm. I keep on meaning to order a couple of their tracked vehicles.

AVAMANGO11 Aug 2012 1:59 a.m. PST

No only a few of the old GZG now Demonscape resin vehicles would go well with 15mm miniatures, both the APC above and the IFV gunned up variant, the hover tank destroyer, the smaller space shuttles, police hover car and both the bigger drop ships.

Duck Crusader11 Aug 2012 2:24 a.m. PST

I've wondered about a lot of that line.In particular this:

picture

Looks like it'd make a perfect long range exploration vehicle for 15mm, something the crew can travel, work, and sleep in. I wish they all had that figure standing next to them.

danyboy11 Aug 2012 2:26 a.m. PST

This is how Khurasan 15mm Defence Force Heavy Infantry Combat Vehicle without top cannon looks like in the same GZG56 Dropship carbobay.

picture

As you can see main hull of Aliens APC is just a little smaller than GZG 25mm scout car.

So it does fit. Thank you for that.

That would make a big old vehicle but then again it is science fiction wargaming so i guess anything goes. At a guess i would say that a 15mm figure would be just over knee height to that GW trooper because of its high slotta base, but the size of the hatches on this vehicle suggest it could well be used for 15mm gaming.

Duck Crusader11 Aug 2012 2:45 a.m. PST

Exactly, think off road Winnebago. Turn the gun into a radar dish, it has a mini lab, bathroom cubicle, bunks, auto kitchen, and computer workstation. Something Geologists and Xenobiologists can use to go out into the bush on an extended survey.

"i would say that a 15mm figure would be just over knee height to that GW trooper"

If it was 15mm proper, sure, but most '15mm' miniatures are really 18mm, put some kind of base under them and they would easily reath at least the groin of the GW dude.

Psyckosama11 Aug 2012 5:19 a.m. PST

I'd love to see THESE beasts with some 15s

Great Not a Bolo/Ogre.

AVAMANGO11 Aug 2012 7:58 a.m. PST

Well as already mentioned if you can picture a 15-18mm figure being around crouch high to that GW miniature you get a rough idea of the sheer size of that wanabee mobile fortress, in another thread someone wanted to purchase a massive tank for 15mm and i posted a photo of the same one above, with a few additional laser defense turrets lining the hull it would look great.

Psyckosama11 Aug 2012 1:16 p.m. PST

Good idea. 3 Laser defense turrets on each side, a double barreled chin turret, Maybe add a large quad gunned air defense turret on top of the hatch of the main turret.

If there's room a rear defense turret as well.

John Bear Ross11 Aug 2012 2:25 p.m. PST

"Great Not a Bolo/Ogre"

Indeed. With some leftover bits from Arc Fleet, HAMR, or Red Banner models, they'd look great. Press-mold a few 15mm hatches on there, and you're in business.

Best,
JBR

Tell you what, if I win the lottery I'll buy one of everything, put a Khurasan human next to each, and post a pic.

Now, everyone root for me to win the lottery!

infojunky12 Aug 2012 2:48 a.m. PST

Right after I do….

To the topic, some of the old GZG's 25mm vehicles work in that wacky 40k way.

But that is my opinion. Do what looks good for you.

Daemonscape30 Aug 2012 1:54 p.m. PST

Hi Guys, i've been reading your comments about our range and will sort out some pics with 15mm figures if you like, I will just have to buy some first, what would you reccomend as I only tend to use 6mm and 25mm figures in my own collections?

McWong7330 Aug 2012 2:49 p.m. PST

Get some Khurasan Federal infantry and some Exterminators. GZG UNSC and NAC infantry too!

infojunky30 Aug 2012 5:12 p.m. PST

Well since they are ex-GZGs models, why not GZG?

AVAMANGO30 Aug 2012 7:33 p.m. PST

I would have suggested the same…

Earl of the North31 Aug 2012 8:49 a.m. PST

I suggested that they made good 15mm apcs a while ago when they where still available from GZG.

Moqawama31 Aug 2012 9:02 a.m. PST

It's SO NICE when pictures prove you right!

:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Earl of the North31 Aug 2012 9:42 a.m. PST

I'm currently using them with Battlefield Evolution figures as armoured cars, I'd say they work as 15mm (apc), 20mm (small apc/armoured car) & 25mm (armoured car)……I dont think they really work with 28mm.

Ferreo Cuore16 Sep 2018 9:24 p.m. PST

I think these could work with 28mm figures, but to me they are an armored sci-fi heavy weapons platform or scout car with 2-man crew and automated-support weapon.

The above "exploration vehicle" would be suitable for 28mm APC I think.

hmmmm….thank you much all for pics!
