Some of you may be familiar with the Prang that I did for 15mm.co.uk.
Miniature painted by SpacejackerWell, I've always liked these aliens and have wanted to come back to them. Recently I started up a new batch of sculpts for some new Prang warriors with the intention of sending them off to Gavin to join his SHM range. Here is a quick pic of these WIP -
These figures are geared up in battered armor and mismatched equipment befitting their scavenger/raider/pirate/mercenary existence. All this kit should make them really fun to paint up. -Eli |

Very, very cool. Kinda reminds me of the Sheyangs from Farscape!

That is one area mine vary. Mine have a sort of throat sack, bull frog thing going on. I tried to do mine almost entirely from memory so that I didn't run the risk of an exact copy. I wanted to be inspired by them, not rip them off. -Eli |

Good point! I still love what you've done there. Dan |

That one's pretty cool :) Add a nose (and a beard maybe) and he could go as a 15mm Demiurg as well. Cheers. |

While I'm early into this project, are there any specific requests that you might like to see included? I am sculpting primarily raider/pirate type poses right now and not a battlefield force, though I see no reason your couldn't make an army out of them if you wanted. Also, here is a quick snap to show how they should scale up with other 15mm figs. the Prang in this picture is leaning forward a bit and still hasn't had his boots or base added, but I think it shows the relative scale well enough. Most of the Prang will stand a head taller than humans and have considerably more bulk.

Well if you are going for a pirate look why not go all the way and sculpt one of them with a peg leg or maby with their eqivalent of a parrot or monkey on his shoulder. Anyway love the fact there's gonna be more of them as that Prang warrior may well be my favourite 15mm uk SHM figure. I'll definately be picking some up! |
Eli Arndt | 06 Aug 2012 9:51 a.m. PST |
I may sculpt a new leader to go with the new sculpts. These new sculpts are a definite evolution off of that original single figure both in technique and design. A monkey parrot and/or cyberleg may just have to happen! -Eli P.S. Is the image showing up sideways to anyone else? |

Prang Army! Prang Army! Prang Army!
Please :D I'm super chuffed you're doing more of these, the SHM minis i picked up were just brilliant! Ben. |

Wow, didn't realise the Prang had a fan base. That's very gratifying guys. It's also incredibly motivating. I will do my best, but these will have to get the seal of approval from 15mm.co.uk. BTW, any online coverage of games featuring Prang? -Eli |

I bleeden' told you that offline ! You suggested I look at the 15mm page and I did and picked that figure as something we need more of! I must have the golden touch or something. I am like the octopus who predicted the world cup victories. Id prefer it, If I could pick out lottery tickets mind you

LOL, Yes

I do run periodic Google searches and such to see how people are using the figs I make. I like following up on my creations to make sure people are enjoying them. I haven't seen much of the Prang. I know this doesn't mean they aren't being used, but I've only found a few painted examples online and none that were being used in games. Anybody have any they would like to show off? -Eli |

that's looking great! I can imagine a whole ship of those salvaging and selling tech scrap! |

My thoughts exactly, they would make a great salvage crew for Star Moghul. Saaaay
!?! Eli, hows about a nice warbot to go with em ay? :) |
Eli Arndt | 22 Aug 2012 6:23 a.m. PST |
The Prang are definitely under my skin and I'm sure to make more and niftier things as I get bolder. Right now, I am sticking to troopers and infantry figs. Much of this is learning while I go and I hardly consider myself a pro, yet. Each time I learn a new thing, i try to incorporate it more. All that said, a warbot or some sort of battlesuit for the Prang would be cool. I've always envisioned them as mercenaries and raiders and some sort of mechanical beastie to send clunking down a corridor sounds cool. -Eli |

Well I for one am looking foreward to seeing where you are going with this project and eager to see what you come up with next. Meanwhile here's a few pictures to keep you motivated :)
Haven't used him in a game yet so sadly no in game pictures. |
Eli Arndt | 22 Aug 2012 7:13 a.m. PST |
Thank you for posting the pic. I love seeing my stuff being enjoyed by others. Don't feel bad about the lack of gaming pics. I haven't painted a single figure I've sculpted. I'm more of a builder, sculptor, gamer and have never considered myself much of a painter. -Eli |

Eli, They are looking better and better. I must get me a handful of them once produced. They will make an awesome boarding/salvaging party. Thanks and keep up with the updates. Dan PS. Hmm. After shaving this morning, I realized I'm starting to look like one of the Prang Gang. Wow. With or without a healing left Achilles, I need to start to exercise and cut back on the food intake, or I'll start to look like Jabba pretty soon. |

LOL! Dan, I'm sure you look nothing like these paunchy, froggy aliens. At least you're not some scruffy looking goof like me –

Closest I can claim is German ancestry, I'm afraid! Technically speaking, I'm a second-generation German immigrant, but only technically speaking. -Eli |

I had a thought of trying to do a couple of Prang vehicle crew figs and/or gunners to add on to existing vehicle and heavy weapons. My main concern is that the Prang are coming in at about 18-20mm tall and with a considerably greater bulk to them than a regular human. This is no problem on its own as the Prang are supposed to be big, bulky, froggy types. Where it does become an issue is in how to integrate this sort of physique with existing ranges of vehicles which is most likely where they would be used (I'm no vehicle guy). Most hatches on vehicles are scaled to human or general human sizes. My initial thoughts are just to make the half figs and rely on the ingenuity of inividual gamers to adapt the crew figs to the vehicles they would put them on. As for weapon crews, I imagine many standing gunenrs for adding onto rigs in a sort "technical" style. Raider buggies, out of loops in the tops of trucks or crawlers. Not a lot of tanks or anything in Prang service, I figure. -Eli |
