Neil- Thanks for coming around with some inside information. I welcome the changes, as I'm a former long-time customer as well. My personal request would be the return of the missing Victoriana lines. I also hope you can find the "lost" molds for the Boer War British 12 & 15 pdrs. I purchased quite a few years ago, and when I contacted Foundry about some missing parts, was told that the molds had disappeared, and that you could not supply them. I'd also add a vote for making figures available as singles. perhaps at a premium. Thanks, and good luck! Oh, and finally

Two figures that took me AGES to get that I "needed" were the Victorian "British Officer in hairy poshteen", and the Victorian
Victoria with shotgun. Both were obtained outside Foundry circles. At the time I would have paid "premium" prices for either. It's nice to see that the new management seems to want to become user friendly again. Back in the day, when "normal" figures sold for $.80 USD and Foundry for $1.10 USD, I did not mind paying the overage. In todday's market, the same percentage would be
acceptable. to a point. For instance, I might need a few "Copplestone SYW Prussian Grenadier without lapels drinking from a bottle". I might go $1.50 USD! |

One thng I find amusing. Foundry had its share of Fanboyz. Admit it. Foundry could do no wrong, blah blah blah. They could not be reasoned with. Then along comes new management to admit to what the fanboyz denied and they vow to fix things. I would like to see the GW and BF fanboyz similarly left out to dry and abandoned. |

Flintloque: Neil is the one on top of the left bookcase on the right. Nice choice of photo, that room has the only 100ft long frieze in the world painted by Wayne England. He did it with Foundry paints! Give us a ring about those cannons you're after. |

How about replacement Spears and Shields for my Celts, sent a e-mail but I think I'd rather have you dig out the old molds then respond at the minute. |

FoundryMarcus: Give us a ring about those cannons you're after. I'm in the US, so prefer to use e-mail if possible. My last contact was with sales@foundry. Shall I try again, or is there a better e-mail to use? Thanks! |

Thanks to Foundry Marcus & Neil for participating here and for what you guys are doing for Foundry. Looking forward to seeing all the Napoleonics back again. |

What does this mean for Foundry WWII 20mm figures? Are the going to come back into print? |

Well in a rising and affluent 80's and 90's market churning your product range with new line additions/replacements is one way of pushing up the price while the market will bear it. This gets you a Big Ole House. However, suddenly recessionary markets means that that won't work any more – at least for a while. People want value with their quality figures. Not £1.50 GBP a figure when there are some excellent metal sculpts out there for £1.00 GBP for an army deal or £1.10 GBP small orders. Look at Calpe & Front Fank. And excellent sculpted plastics for 40p for some ranges. Foundry have clearly been slow to recognise this, and have fiddled around at the margins while others have picked up their customers. Looks like its the Perrys who will be next with a Big Ole House! And good luck to them! |

I welcome the dialogue with Foundry management. I would encourage them to continue – there will be some sticks and stones I'm sure, but the business benefits will outweigh the costs. |

I have always liked Foundry Figures and in the truest sense of the free market thought that I and others could choose to buy them or not. I am glad they are getting a lot more back into production. With that said, does anyone have the original, non missing list of the Plains Wars US Cavalry handy or the original cowboy listing? Is there a site with the original listings? Thank you in advance! |

Absolutely fantastic news! May I suggest you look into things like crowdsourcing ala kickstarter if you need help getting the range back into shape? An example of some recent activities link link Finally, excellent news for those abroad, however I would suggest could you not sell VAT free to such people? |

After an 11 month stint working here at Foundry, my cousin Neil leaves us today to pursue his career as an academic. We wish him well and thought that you would enjoy this photo

After checking the site, I notice packs are now $18.58 USD for a standard set of six. Has the price come down any? Weren't they $22 USD before? A local store has some for $12 USD, but their stock is very picked over. Foundry should *really* look into converting a ton of their stuff to plastic. Two companies have already beat them to producing Zulu in plastic. They could easily do a kickstarter to raise funds for esoteric stuff like a Nandi tribe, stuff they don't make already. I don't envy them, trying to sell metal figures at a time when metal prices are going up worldwide because China is buying all our metal *and* they have to compete with companies that are producing such fine plastic figures. Even Reaper is converting their range to plastic. Foundry might wanna step up in the plastics-making division, or they might find themselves being left behind. |

There are still plenty of folks that like metal. Nothing wrong with plastics mind you, but metal still has legs. |

I just received my first Foundry order in many years. The prices to Switzerland were very high but are now much more reasonable. I bought some medieval civilians and medieval artillery. Quality is excellent and they arrived very quickly. Wargames Foundry is back on my list of stores to visit :-) Mick |

Given the cost of producing stuff in plastics you have to sell a heck of a lot of em to get the capital back, always going to leave the 'non mainstream' items/ranges behind a little. Not been that impressed with plastics myself, they seem to lack a certain sharpness to my eyes. I might add here thats an opinion based on very superficial examination. Ive seen some very nice finished jobs out there using plastics and its nice seeing the 'modelling' aspects of the hobby returning. Thats a very good thing indeed. L |

Did they ever release the so called new found/old molds in the Napoleonic Range/s? If so they weren't promoted very well at all! Cheers, |
Inkpaduta | 11 Jul 2014 4:28 p.m. PST |
I have to say I find their new prices very reasonable. Especially as to the US they charge only $9.00 USD for shipping. Compared to some companies that charge 33% or 50%. |
