I am interested in hearing recommendations from anyone who has first-hand experience with any of these FPW ranges: Essex Freikorps 15 Irregular Minifig Old Glory 15s Outpost Rank & File
Hope I listed them all (Eagle Figures indicated on their website that FPW range was no longer being manufactured). Also interested in knowing which are more-or-less compatible with which

I've owned Essex, Rank And File, and Outpost Wargames Service. The Rank & File figures are compatible with Essex. Outpost Wargames Service are best used by themselves because they are thinner and taller than the Rank & File. Essex are bulky than the Rank & File figues, though. I like Rank & File overall for poses and sculpts. But Essex also has good sculpts and figures for command and artillery, too. The Outpost figures are more 18mm than 15mm. I have no idea about 15mm FPW from Old Glory or other miniature companies. Hope this helps, Blake |

I like the outpost, and they are fine with Old Glory 15s |

Are you looking for uniformity or pose variety? If it's variety you want, then Old Glory 15s are by far and away the choice. There are 48 different poses of French line infantry and just about that many of Prussian line infantry as well! Jagers, Chasseurs a' Pied, Zouaves, Turcos, etc. have less, but still far more than the other companies listed. Old Glory are taller 15s matching well with Outpost, Essex, and Rank and File. Freikorps 15s and Minifigs are the true 15mm figures but only have one pose of each type of troop. Outpost, Essex, and Rank & File each have 3-4 different poses of each of the major troop types. I have figures from all of the maufacturers above that you listed. Since none of them were what I was looking for, I sculpted the Old Glory 15s, so I may be a bit biased. I used Detaille and De Neuville paintings for my sculping guide, so the ankles on the French are a bit on the thin side. ;-) |

I used Freikorps 15 from QRF for variety of troop types they are hard to beat also the sculpting is very good. They are as others have said true 15mm. Some FreiKorps 15's have only one pose others have more. |

Thanks for the input! I've found photos online of all of these ranges except Rank & File. Does anyone have photos of any of their FPW figures? |

Lancashire Games also makes figs. They are towards the OG 15 and Outpost size and are pretty nice. They sell them in small and large bags. The price is competitive. I own Minifigs, OG15, Lancashire, Essex, Frei Korps and some Outpost figs. I use them all but in different units. Thanks, John |
