Cool, was just wondering how big
. I have been pondering this; link
Yes I have been considering building something in this size for 15mm. |

Ok so lets say you have a large tank suitable with 28mm miniatures how would you make it appear to look smaller for gaming with 15mm miniatures ? I can only think of a few things such as extra hull defense turrets, smaller hatches, extra armour plating, anyone else have any thoughts and ideas ? |

Conceal the suspension with armour plating, and use the additional flat surfaces to add additional secondary and tertiary weapon turrets/blisters. Also, if the basic model is the sort that has the vinyl plastic tracks, you might also consider separating the tracks in the center of the vehicle and bringing the tracks up into the space to be covered by the new side armour. This gives the impression of four separate track units rather than two, which adds to the visual impression of a much larger-than-normal machine. Hope this helps! Leland R. That RATTE tank is truly HUGE! The "little" tank next to it is a 15mm Soviet WWII heavy tank.

What Leland said mostly. But I must point out that I am generally building from scratch now. The bits I frequently run into trouble with are the small scale specific items. For those I generally scavenge for. Though the amount of 15mm specific bits is growing so my job is getting easier. |

Folks, Thanks for *all* the assistance. The bargain priced MAUS from Hobby Link Japan were exactly what I needed. In 1/72 they are plenty big for 15mm and give a nice sci-fi vibe (though those road wheels are tiny!) A 15mm RAFM mid-tech trooper reaches out to touch the behemoth.
Big isn't it?
Now to 'sci-fi' them up a little bit.

Joining 4 of the of the Tanks from Russia will only make a heavy Tank I have 24 that I have to work out how I'm Going to Convert to use with my 15mm Figures They are Very Small for 1/100th models but have a lot of accessories to Use on other vehicles. Pedrobear might not have seen the actual models first hand. I'll Measure them today or tomorrow & Give the Length Height & Width. Sorry I don't have them out right now. |

The Maus is perfect for a super-heavy battle tank, yes. Still not a Bolo really, except perhaps one of the early marks
Gonna get me some nonetheless, as I need some SBTs on the cheap

The Dimensions of the Zod 2 Tanks from Russia. There are 3 types of turrets So I list each separately. Length 44mm Width 35mm height 12mm + Turrets 1= 7mm/ 1= 5mm/ 1= 3mm |

Hmmm
those Russkie tanks might make good robotic units
if you're playing Tomorrow's War, the Japanese rely upon robotics and synthetic soldiers for their armed forces, so a completely robotic small AFV that isn't dependent upon an organic crew would have the advantage of not needing to be large enough to accommodate a crew to get the job done, everything being handled by internal servos, etc. Another possibility is to remove the turrets and use them for secondaries on a larger AFV project, while using the chassis as the basis for some light APCs or other conversion projects like light SP support weapons.
