This weekend I had another chance to play my favorite rules-lite, fast-paced, generic miniatures game "Song of Blades and Heroes". This time it was with members of the Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club so of course we used LEGO terrain including a model of Andy's room from Toy Story and parts of Futurama city. Given the choice I still prefer SBH with painted miniatures a bit more, but this was a nice diversion and a heck of alot of fun!

Brief AARs, more pictures and a short comparison to "Brikwars" at our Club's Blog here:

A neat use of the Legos. If you kept the Toy Story theme, that would be the "Pizza Planet Express"!

It's all about the fun ;-) Seems like a good recruiting tool towards the younger set too!

I have been thinking about switching to LEGO for LOTR now that they are cheaper than GW.

Brillent – love lego use it for Star Wars and Doctor Who in fact won best of show with both games. Ancientsgamer is quite right the kids queue up to play the games.

I must admit though I'm not that impressed with the LOTR lego

Glad you folks enjoyed this.

I was a bit skeptical of the suggestion to use the Andy's Room layout, but it ended up being one of my favorite wargaming tables ever, LEGO or not.
