I'm getting into WWI & WWII naval wargaming and would like some input on this. What size aircraft model works best with 1/2400 ships for WWI and WWII? Is there different optimums for convoy battles and major multi-carrier actions? |

GHQ makes some carrier a/c in their 1/2400 WWII line. |

If the planes are going to be the focus, perhaps 1/600? I'm using 1/600 planes with 1/1850 Axis and Allies ships for my WWII aero-naval fix, but I'm more aero than naval. I like the perspective larger planes give the ships, so even if 1/600 is too big, perhaps 1/1200 planes. |

I also use 1/600 aircraft with my 1/2400 scale ships. Easier, somewhat, to identify at a distance. My 1/600 aircraft also pull double duty, as I also use them with 1/600 coastal forces. |

I use 1/700 scale planes with 1/2400 WWII ships. Fairly cheap with all major types of Japanese, American and British carrier aircraft(some land based aircraft too) as well as some flying boats. They can be found seperately listed with 1/700 model ships from retailers, such as squadron.com . |

I'm going with 1/700 because of costs. There are also a number of biplane options available in the ca. 1935-1940 era, which suggest scenerios where BB are the major players and air is a shorter ranged and less effective complementary player. |
