A Vietnam scenario is included in the basic rulebook. Are you using the Force on Force rules (and supplement) from Osprey/Ambush Alley Games for your Vietnam gaming?

* yes, I am
* no, but I plan to
* no, I use some other rules
* I don't game the Vietnam War

Brown Fez21 Jul 2012 6:02 p.m. PST

Lion in the Stars21 Jul 2012 6:30 p.m. PST

Yes, for squad-to-platoon operations. Force on Force doesn't work very well with one person controlling more than that, so I need to use a different set of rules for larger engagements (Tropic Lightning seems to work so far)

whoa Mohamed21 Jul 2012 6:43 p.m. PST

Yes I use Ambush Valley ….Mikey

Some other rules.
Toofatlardies Charlie dont surf rules. Greeat set for company sized actions. Very good asimetrical feel to them.

Lion, I started with BFs rules, and still use mosrt of thier miniatures. But for actual play, I love TFL, much better feel to them.

My last game I put on at a Con, I had a Vietnam Navy F-4 Weapons officer play, and he thought they did a very good job.

I plan to try them (bought but not played yet), but I'll continue playing FNG as well, and I'd like to pick up Charlie Don't Surf.

jdginaz22 Jul 2012 6:06 a.m. PST

No, I also use "Charlie Don't Surf". Best rules and the right scale for Vietnam.

Tgunner22 Jul 2012 6:23 a.m. PST

2 and 3.

I don't game the Vietnam War.

I got rid of miniatures two years ago. Never painted them.

Altius22 Jul 2012 9:14 a.m. PST

* no, I use some other rules

Fatman22 Jul 2012 9:37 a.m. PST

2 but use CDS more often. Plan to use ambush valley for smaller sized battles in 20mm

Grand Duke Natokina22 Jul 2012 12:24 p.m. PST

We use our own rules.
Actually a fairly interestin conflict to game. I always consider it to have been fought with WWII technology--very significantly updated, but WWII nonetheless.

Barks123 Jul 2012 1:50 a.m. PST

plan to.

nazrat23 Jul 2012 11:42 a.m. PST

Yep, I have used Ambush Valley for my 20mm Nam games for years now, and my whole group loves them! Now if I can just get the choppers finished it'll add a whole new dimension to the games!
