Can anyone recommend a blog system I could use? Not too chuffed with the idea of blogger, since it requires a google account. All suggestions welcome. |

I agree with Margard – but note that Wordpress.com is easier for the beginner than wordpress.org though. I did my blog in Wordpress.com, and am overall very happy with it, apart from the fact it doesn't have a decent dynamic blogroll widget. Other than that, it has everything I want, and is easy to set up and maintain. Wordpress.com has quite a number of free themes, which are easy enough to adapt to get your own individual look and feel. For example, here's what my Wordpress blog looks like: arteis.wordpress.com |

Have been looking at some other blogs on Wordpress from people I know and it looks good. |

I prefer blogger much easier to keep up with what nearly everybody else is doing and you can seriously customise blogger as well ,see link |

Blogger gets more coverage, Wordpress is easier to create. But anyone should find basic level on either platform easy enough. Making a start is the key. FWIW I prefer blogs with plenty of pictures
otherwise I'd say publish and be damned (the great thing about blogs is you can correct and/or delete if you have a better idea
) Phil soawargamesteam.blogspot.com ecwbattles.wordpress.com as examples |

Wordpress. Very good, clean and easy to use. However, the most important thing is to have plenty of content, and providing a regular set of updates. As others have said, lots of pictures and added value narrative. This helps drive hits on your website, and whilst I'm not on an ego trip, there's no point in me wasting my time posting stuff if one man on his dog visits when there is a blue moon rising on the leap year Sunday. I initially started it off for my group when I moaned that it was difficult sending round photos which killed our e-maill accounts. At which point they all turned to me and basically said: An ex-webmaster should be found to set up a web site bto host the pictures. As an ex webmaster I had to comply
Also, you'll need a place to store all your pictures, I use photobucket. link |
