It's all kicking off between Lumata-Zumata, Nbuto, Mbote and Bagombo
only this time it's up in the air: link
anyone else had a crack at this and, if so, what rules did you use? I'm thinking of either Bag the MiG or MiG Alley but I'm open to suggestions, as long as their simple (the rules that is) Cheers Jim |

The African Republic of Bongolesia would ask that nations try to find a more peaceful way of solving issues other than dropping each others burning air wreckage out of the sky
But on another note
Honest Abdul is having a sale this week on Avionics, parts, and air to air missiles, and air to ground ordinance

Did something similar using CY6! Jet Age for the combat rules. Wrote up campaign rules for mercenary war corporations that included a mission generator, logistics/acquisition, and an abstract ground combat component. CY6!JA works really well, takes pilot and equipment quality ino account, and has good rules for missiles of various types. Pretty easy too, as the movement is charted for you. |

I'd recommend CY6 too. Good range of stats in the basic book to cover most types of aircraft used by 3rd world type air forces and easy to play. |

I love CY6 Jet Age. It's not simple. Airwar C21 is 2D simple rules. Wargame Vault has Airwar C21 lite for free link if you want to try it out CY6 Jet Age is much more realistic but Airwar C21 is more in line with AK47 |

Thanks chaps.. I forgot to mention that CY6 makes my brain hurt (too many tables, column shifts, maths etc) but it is very well put together and an excellent system, nonetheless. Airwar:C21 is very much the sort of thing I'm after but it really needs to be more Airwar:c1950 really
.no supersonic flight, missiles or other new fangled things. I'm sure I could wangle it to fit though? Thanks again Jim |

I think in the Wessex Yahoo group's files section there's something on adapting C21 to the earlier jet periods. Another pretty simple game is Blazing Jets by Fat Jonny Games, also on Wargame Vault. It's more Vietnam to Gulf War, but it's simple enough playing around to get what you want shouldn't be too hard. link |

I have some very simple and free rules usable for earlier jets in my website, I know that were used by another wargamer for his imagi – nations panzer8.weebly.com |

I'd recommend the Wings at War series for the Suez Crisis and Korean War. Most of the aircraft would be covered. The rules are dead simple but give fast and furious 3D games. |

Ditto on the wings at war series. The Desert spitfires rules is a "free" download link And is easily adapted to other aircraft and is a "fun" set of rules in line with the AK47 ethos Si |

There is of course the Air War 1950 variant of C21 :) |

Air War C21 gives you the option of letting the superpowers out to play if you so desire (or if the locals sufficiently off the South Africans) |
