What specific set of 19th century historical miniatures do you think would work best in portraying a submersible crew in the 1870s?

Thanks,

I can't put my finger on it but for me, none of those options look like they would say "Nemo" to me. They all look like Sikhs, Russians etc. and don't have the flavor of someone who has renounced the surface world so I guess that I am of little help when it comes to suggestions. I think that perhaps seamen of various types would perhaps be appropriate as opposed to the Naval Landing Brigade rifle-armed style but I wouldn't think that there would be much to choose from for miniatures.

I can see them listed there on page 7. Can't wait to see what they look like.

I love most of the BM 15s I've bought so far.

Thanks!

Civil War sailors would work just fine, I think:

Now this looks cool, but I doubt if it is practical for a submarine crew.

Plus I doubt if there are any 15mm historical figures that look like that:

If you can find some of the old London War Room Rajah Brooke sailors, they would be a good start. Also, Peter Pig's Sudan sailors would be useful.

The real challenge is getting figures suited up for moving about underwater. Now that is something I'd like to see!

EMW,

This is the closest I've found for crew in Victorian-looking "diving gear":

Thanks, Dan. Perhaps the only real SF (and it is real Science! Fiction) I'd consider gaming. Reasonable. But I'd really love a hard hat diver. Probably have to do a conversion to get it. Or pay for a custom job.
