Our group Delaware Area Wargamers gamed a NWF game last night using The Sword and the Flame. Here is the battle report from one of our group. link |

Shabash huzoor! That's a pukka looking game indeed. I'm particularly taken by your rather fetching little hill fort. |

Wow, great looking game! Really first rate. Thanks, John |

Nice stuff. Terrain's a bit too verticle for me. I hope you don't mind if I try my hand at a tower like the one that's part of your hill fort. Why didn't you put any troops on top of it? |

Rrobbyrobot, with due respect, saywhatun? Too vertical? It's the bloody freaking North West Frontier, probably the most vertical terrain in the world! : ) Gorgeous game. |

Awesome game, awesome battle report, and very cool terrain (the gorgeous hill fort looks like it might've been built by the legendary Chris The Model Maker). I have one question: are the round movement trays that carried 4 Pathans apiece magnetic? May be wishful thinking on my part but it looked like maybe they are, and if so, I'm desperate to learn where they came from! |

Ethan, yes the hill fort is from Chris. It's a shame he doesn't do commission work any more. Yes the bases are magnetic. I think I got them from Jeff Vallett awhile ago. Jim Ferich |

Thanks very much for replying to my questions, Jim! Yeah, Chris The Model Maker is one very talented Canadian dude. I envy you, having a piece of NWF terrain crafted my him! Bit of a bummer that you got the magnetic rounds from Jeff Valent, only because he doesn't seem to be in business these days, but I think you have inspired me to attempt scratch-building something similar, if I can track down a big Chinese take-out box of large round Gale Force Nine "Econo Bases" I bought a few years back. Unfortunately I don't think those are available these days either. I plan to trace the large round base shape onto magnetic sheet, cut out matching circles, and just glue them down, maybe test giving the magnetic surface a dry-brush paint job to match my ground-cover, and see if it retains enough magnetism to be worth while. Anyhow, thanks very much for the inspiration! Your table, troops, and terrain all look good -- ESPECIALLY THOSE "VERTICAL" BITS! |

Renaissance Ink does the Quart boxes too. I have had two orders for them and they are great value. 10 bucks a quart. You can check out his website or email him for info. Thanks, John |

Thank you, John, I will look into it! |
