"Khurasan releases the Meso-Nai" Topic

We're pleased to release the first two codes of our extremely xenophobic salamandroids, the Meso-Nai. The first code is Reach Force troopers in power armour, five models in unique poses.

The second code is a Reach Force Sectionmaster and a Photon cannoneer, the heavy weapon of the section, a versatile weapon that, depending on the setting, can unleash a storm of small bursts, or one mighty burst powerful enough to break a tank tread.

All Meso-Nai wear power armour when outside their equally heavily protected vehicles. There are four vehicles to start -- two variants of the
Grampus superheavy APC and two variants of the Hellbender tank. These vehicles place almost their entire emphasis on protection, the Grampus having armour as heavy as a Siler, and the Hellbender even heavier! They are virtually featureless, even sensor arrays being smooth hemispheres.

As the Meso-Nai are amphibious and have a slight preference for aquatic environments, their vehicles reflect that mindset, and surface detailing resembles a submarine rather than a tank -- the vehicles in fact appear to be broad squat submarines!

If there is sufficient interest in the line, we may have their core lance complex designed -- machines planted on a targeted planet to interfere with the planet's magnetosphere and thus render the planet uninhabitable. It would be the central lance itself, bolted onto the surface of the planet, then guard towers with cannon stations manned (salamandered?) by Meso-Nai.

When all of the other sentients put aside their considerable differences to deal with the Meso-Nai menace, they found once they made planetfall on Cripto-Branq, the Meso-Nai homeworld, that a surprising proportion of the population still lived in savagery. These stone age tribes were seen as especially devout worshippers of their god, Urodela, and thus revered by the Meso-Nai who had chosen the path of civilisation -- a sort of holy innocent. These fought with special savagery against the invaders. Accordingly our codes of Salamen can be used as savage Meso-Nai, as they are physically identical to the Reach Force troopers.

No, extreme xenophobia means that you hate and fear all other species so they would not be allied to Andromeda. They will immediately expend great national effort to wipe out the cult, just as they attempt to wipe out everyone else.

The nagas are cobra-headed. That lines been a bit delayed because spacejackers stuff is still sailing 'bout the globe!

Am looking forward to the release of those, what is the range composed of? Are there vehicles?

Porfiro, the Cult would not have vehicles manufactured purely for them, but they would collect vehicles from worlds they have "visited."

They do however have spirit engines that fly at a hover, and mount a deck gun that is crewed by a cultist. Andromeda herself rides one of these but it doesn't have a deck gun. It carries something much more powerful.

I for one can see a lone Meso-Nai "heretic"/madman (madsalamander?) who has come to the unsettling conclusion that the real universe is full of sentient life, the Meso-Nai are just one among many, and the delusions are only in the minds of his people.

So where would such a religious outcast run to to avoid being burned at the stake for his heresy? Why the Jasmine Throne's very own Legion Etranger, of course!

Hi Jon, thats actually a good idea, you should have a size comparison pic area on your site, with pics of all of your stuff next to each other, maybe a bit of work though.

These figs are really nice. The Meso-Nai are just one of those pants-peeing sort of aliens you just don't want to run into on the battlefield.

No slobbering fangs and spikes or whatever. Just a lot of heavy duty, big gun troops.

Especially because they are out to blow up your star and/or send your atmosphere drifting off into the void of space.

Glad you like them Eli. I think they are fun and they make a fitting opposite to their long-term enemies, the Hauk, who have great speed and agility and powerful weapons but little armour (just a armoured vest really).

The Meso-Nai have sturdy, slow tanks with very little surface detail, looking more like subs than tanks really. The Hauk have a jet bike that is basically one big cannon, covered with surface detail, and a medium mech that also will have lots of details. More to come on these items in the coming months….

BTW, another thing I note is that your pack setup is pretty cool on the Meso-Nai. 3 packs gets you two solid squads. 6 will get you a platoon worth.
