I'm looking for suggestions for software to make floor-plan style maps such as those from Horrorclix. Are there any good programs out there? Thanks! |

Photoshop. Dedicated programs are Shuffler and Paper Make-It! Also Dundjinni, but I never figured out how to use it :)
Edit: Also check out my modern maps made with a 3D program and assets from the Left 4 Dead games: link

Thanks gents. It's looking like I'll be spending a good amount of time in Illustrator and Photoshop to get what I need. |

I'm very late to this thread, but you could also use Google Sketchup plus the millions of free models in their warehouse, then export a parallel top view. All the lighting and shadows will be done for you automatically. There's a variety of textures included with Sketchup, and you can, of course, import others. No bump or normal mapping, though. Alternately, you could export the sketchup file to a 3D renderer like Kerkythea, in which case you have more lighting and texture options. |
