Is Mythic Variations useful with their GM Emulator, or is it primarily geared to the RPG rules side of the system?

What kind of info, and/or tables are in the Mythic Variations supplement?

I'm primarily interested in Traveller-esque, Blade Runner-esque, Modern, and Pirate RPG games, scenarios, and campaigns, so would like to know if there is useful info in there for that?

Finally, I'd like to know if anyone offers a Mythic GM Emulator, and Variations combo?

Not sure I need the RPG rules, since I have some of the others, but comments on them would be useful too.

From the intro to Variations,
"This book is a sourcebook for the Mythic Role Playing Game and Mythic Game Master Emulator. Nothing in here will make much sense unless you have either of those two books.
Now, on to the good stuff …
What are variations, and why would you want one? Simply put, Mythic Variations is about adding spice to your Mythic adventures. This book is intended as supplemental material to the Mythic adventure generating system. Mythic Variations is a toolbox with useful suggestions and crunchy rules, any of which you can take or leave at your discretion."

It looks like it would work well with either set of rules (GME or RPG).

Chapters in Variations address:
Game Mastering,
Mythic Themes (Horror, Action, Personal, Epic, Social, mystery),
Complex Questions (more than the usual yes/no Mythic questions),
Off-Camera Stories (what happens between games?),
Adventure Outlines (using mythic to briefly outline adventures in advance, to speed game setup)

That sounds interesting. I got the Mythic GME recently and am impressed. Maybe fork out on this on payday. Oh how my shelves bulge and creak…

MAko111,

Yes, very much so. Posted an old game report to illustrate how. The specifics about Mythic Variations are at the very end.

Variations offers more tables for the Game Master Emulator and more ways to use the tables in the original GME. You could use it to run Traveller. Be aware of the fact that you might want to make some tables of your own, especially for the Complex question system.

In other words, you don't get things about the in house fantasy system. I don't see where you can get variations and the emulator as a bundle at RPGNow.

Thanks for the links, and info.

I really appreciate it.
