Hi all,

I have always disliked lound clatery dice rolling,
so I bought a tower from Litko,
glued felt to the baffles and sides,

picture

and Presto!
a nice quiet (well, muffled) dice tower!

picture

works well!

next modification will be an "arena" for the
dice to roll out into, to make them easier to see

(just say "NO" to dice cups)

I wanted nothing on my game table but terrain and figures. So I started rolling dice in a box on the desk by the table. This was a bit noisey, so I lined the cardboard box with felt.
I also sometimes play a game that uses buckets of dice. So I bought some dollar store plastic cups and lined them with felt. But I really like your felt lined dice tower idea.

Dice tower with added silencer…

All you need now is some 9mm dice!

Hmmm…maybe I'm the only one, but I like the sound of rolling dice.

For many years, this was my favorite dice tower. it even has a bell.

Good idea! A local club member seems to enjoy using his dice tower, but the noise is rather annoying, especially if you're not at the same gaming table…

I made my dice tower from cork tile, no issue.

You can also buy self-adhesive cork at most DITY yourself stores, usually in the same area where they have shelf paper. Cut, peel, stick -- reduces about 80% of the noise.

Great idea for a stealth dice tower.

CPBelt's mechanical tower is from The Inventors, by Parker Brothers. link
My family had this game when I was growing up, which means my parents or my sister probably still do have it stored somewhere.

Another solution for a quieter dice tower is to build one out of card stock paper. The dice make more of a "rumble" sound than the high-pitched clatter of plastic or wood towers.

I love the sound of dice in the morning. Its the sound of Victory.

Charlie don't roll.
